Well guys, Ive been thinking about this for awhile now, and have mixed feelings about why ASME wants only 30,000 Psi pre-stress on their studs. We use primarily ASTM A193 B7 studs. I can see it as a safety factor in the stud, but I have a couple of reasons against it. In every handbook or...
From a reciprocating compressor standpoint:
B.H.P.= Adiabatic HP/(Adiabatic Eff. * Mech. Eff.)
Adiabatic HP= 3.03 * 14.4 psia * (N/(N-1)) * (R^((N-1)/N)-1)
3.03 = constant
N = ratio of specific heats of gas compressed
R = ratio of compression
Try .95 for mech. eff. or verify with comp...
I am not sure. I have been selecting the connection point, right clicking, then selecting start route. When it is done, it shows up as a 3d sketch under the route feature.
I have been having problems editing my pipe routes, then they disappear. I am running SW2006. I have been having to delete the routes and start over. Is there any way to solve this problem? I have tried the rebuild and cntl+q. Any help would be appreciated.
I have never tried using the ctrl-Q method, I will try that next time I save. I just push the regenerate "traffic light" button to regen the model.
Thanks for the FAQ link, I think it will be very helpful.
Well if I have all the parts open before I open the assembly, the mates stay. Is the parametric geometry existing geometry used to model other parts, or like a design table dimension?

I have a good amount of parts that use other parts in the assembly for existing geometry, such as faces and edges. Should I try and delete the inplace mates, remate them, and dimension the geometry instead of using the other part's geometry? All my problems are with elbows and pipe. The pipe's...
Hi guys,
I have been battling a problem for the past week with an assembly I have made. I am running SW2006 SP0.0.
When I am done adjusting my assembly, I regenerate it, then save it, with no problems. If I go and close it, then reopen it, sometimes It takes my mates and switches the faces...
If I have time today I will try and play with the edrawing viewer. Thanks for the help guys.
Is there a use for detached drawings, if you have edrawing?
Also, If I wanted to send someone who has solidworks a drawing, do I need to send him all the parts and assemblies for him to change a dimension? Is there a way around it?
Hi guys,
We are on a network, and wondering what is a good way to send people on the network drawing files that are able to be viewed and updated, since the parts are on the server.
Also, if you have a detached drawing, can you convert it back to an attached drawing to change dimensions?
Thanks.
Thanks for the data. I have been working on this spreadsheet for a couple of weeks off and on. I just started this project (Air cooled heat exchangers). Its been a while since I have done heat transfer problems so I am a little bit rusty.
I am not sure if I have my spreadsheet set up right. I...
Thank you for your response. This application will be an air cooled heat exchanger. The Nitrogen is the tube side. There are four different exchangers.
The first one will have the following criterea:
Design PSI: 350 psi Design Temperature F: -20/350 F
Second:
Design PSI: 850 psi Design...
