    so, select the first of the 6 sketches and use this as the profile, then use the remaining 5 sketches as guide curves.

    yeah there closed loops,the sketches are converted model edges from the formers, so they are the outline shape of the former, with all coutouts and holes removed. ill give it another go and see if i can get it work. thanks for the help.

    thanks for the info, but the dxfs have been produced in Radan not autocad, maybe i can set the origin up in radan so it comes right in solidworks

    when i import a dxf into solidworks and use it to make a part, the sketch is miles from the origin, how can i move the sketch so its attached to the origin, ive tried useing the move button but cant seem to get it right.

    thanks ill try it that way, as i can get dimples in the flat part but once its rolled up they jusy appear next to the model and not actually attached to it.

    hi. im modelling a jet turbine engine.its very nearly completed apart from a few minor niggles, which i cant seem to do.On the combustion i have a sheet metal rectangle with several rows of round holes in it, this is then rolled in to a cylinder which is fine, but i need the holes to be dimpled...
