This is very helpful, thank you! Since it's out of spec on the thicker side (more conservative?), what's the downside to tapering it to meet the requirement of B31.8 when welding it to the Sch80 pipe?
We have an 8x6 XS reducer measured 0.5 on the 8" side and 0.62 - 0.65 on the 6" side. Is that too thick on the 6" side? are they usually manufactured that way?
Does ASME B16.9 have an allowable wall thickness tolerance? I can't seem to find it. We have an 8x6 XS reducer measured 0.5 on the 8" side and 0.62 - 0.65 on the 6" side. Is that acceptable?
Public information I can find backs up my source's claim that the pipe is 20 years so. It was put into service in 2002 according to EIA so it's actually less than 20 years old...
KM's statement to media says it was a pipeline failure. Although that's a broad term, I think if it was a 3rd party damage (not from previous ding), the evidence would still be there and KM would have said that was the cause specifically. If it was a previous ding, they would have found it...

@GeoEnvGuy Great thoughtful inputs. Thanks! Since it's an analogy and not the exact situation, you're just going to have to take my word that the plan Bob an his crews come up with can be complex requiring both practical experience and professional judgement. It's more complex than just read...
@GeoEnvGuy Thanks for your input. Unfortunately, in my world, it is not as cut and dried on what the PE is responsible for as it is in the a "design" environment. I, however, have resolved the issue (hopefully) by asking the document to be changed so that I sign off on the section that I am...
Thanks cvg. I read that definition. That's why I asked if the documents need to be prepared by myself or under my direct supervision. Did you read the definition of a bona fide employee differently than I did?
Greetings,
The following can be found in the rules of Arizona Board (link to full text below if you're interested).
"A registrant shall not sign, stamp, or seal any professional documents not prepared by the registrant or a bona fide employee of the registrant."
I'm struggling a bit with the...
