Dear Material experts,
I have a pipe spool of SS321 being used for 1" riser along the flare stack.
I have short supply of material SS321, 1" pipe
Please suggest if I can use SS347 pipe spool available with me.
I need to weld the material as it has socket weld joints.
As per my study, E-347-16...
Dear Friends,
Here I am having a lines for which Design Pressure is 39 Kg/cm2g.
The line needs to be complete dry, hence we are going for Pneumatic test.
As per Code ASME31.3, the Pneumatic test pressure comes out to be 1.1 x 39 = 42.9 Kg/cm2g
As I understand, such high pressure is not...
In general for process piping ASME B31.3 is used for calculation of Hydrotest pressure.
Today I came across ASTM A530, which also specifies as
"each length of
pipe shall be tested by the manufacturer to a hydrostatic
pressure which will produce in the pipe wall a stress not less
that 60 % of the...
Dears,
In the current project I am working , I came across the term "Hot dip galvanizing".
Is there any difference between galvanizing and hot dip galvanizing?
Is HOT DIP galvanizing any special process?
I have following Item to be procured:
" Flange - Plate, Carbon Steel Per Indian Standard IS 2062 Grade B, 10 Bar WorkingPressure, Per AWWA C207 Class D"
However in the AWWA C207 standard Class D stands for 175-150 psi.
It does not mention 10 Bar.
Should I procure as 150 psi flange?
We have a 3/4" vent line from equipment of SS304 (300#) material as per P&ID. After the Isolation valve (3/4") there is a spec break shown. The next specification stands for SS316 (150#) material. I want to clarify a doubt here. Why did the process engineer chose SS316(150#) instead of...
For steam service,
Can I use a spectacle blind of material ASTM A105 instead of ASTM A515 Gr.70?
What is the criteria for evaluation of the possibility?
