Hello,
Can a North American fabricator which is a ASME U stamp holder get all phases of fabrication/testing (except hydrotest and name plate rubbing) done overseas and apply U stamp in its shop?
What are the min. requirements of ASME from the overseas fabricator?
Thanks!
Hello,
I need to fix an existing design for building/room pressurization.
Here is the current design:
A one storey building with a large room, a small room and a mechanical room. An outdoor filtration unit with a constant volume supply fan and preheat coil supplies OA. An indoor AHU with a...
Herr, thank you for reply but I do not agree with you. Motor efficiencies are estimated from ASHRAE tables..

Hello,
There is a process plant with some pumps pumping fluid out of the plant
I use 2545*P*((1-eff)/eff).FUM.FLM classic pump motor heat dissipation formula from ASHRAE fundamentals handbook for these.
Now there are a lot of other pumps in this plant which only carry fluid between H/Xs...
317069: I think your suggestion will only help prolong filter life. Filters will still load to 1" at some point no matter how many/big they are and you will still need to keep indoors -1" to draw in the required air at that point. I do not think Building is as tight as a commercial building.
317069:
1-Relief dampers are for exhausting AHU supply air when only the AHU is running. They are located at a high elevation on the opposite wall where AHU supply air grilles are. When filtered intake/exhaust fans are also running -obviously- relief dampers can not exhaust any air.
2-Cooling...
Hi,
There is a process building which has the following system:
1)AHU with a supply fan, modulating outdoor and return dampers, no coils (heating by unit heaters and free cooling)
2)Relief dampers which will open at 0.1" with respect to outdoors for AHU
3)Exhaust fans to help cooling when...
Mintjulep: Air to air H/X is not possible because exhaust is far from make up air unit. Also, run around coil is not possible because it requires glycol equipment etc.. making things complicated, opposite of client's request for simplicity and no more space for hvac in the building.
walkes: Do...
Hi,
There is an unoccupied pumphouse with 1500 hp+ motors in it located in a climate with -40 F winter design conditions. Because there is so much internal heat gain from pumps and piping, this building requires cooling even when it is -40 F outside. Inside design conditions are 95F and 60% RH...
Hi, we have vav boxes with reheat and convectors at perimeter zones. Convectors are sized to offset envelope loss. Vav reheat valves are not commanded open before room temperature drops below set point (vav boxes set to min flow), and we have reheat valves 100% open when room temperature is 3...
You may need to google it in russian. The sites you are looking for are "environment", "weather office" type government sites. Also look at ASHRAE Fundamentals Chapter 28. There is weather data for all major cities around the world in the data cd. Another resource can be NASA, you may need to...
IRStuff: HD accelerates, right? Doesn't this mean power applied is larger than the power lost to friction?(ie:part of power to the disk's mass to give it a rotation, how did this power end up as heat gain is my curious question) Also, I do believe radiant component of heat gain is also conserved...
My boss argues that ALL the power drawn by a computer will end up as heat gain in a room. I know that energy needs to be conserved (1st law of thermo.)
My questions:
1-How does ALL the power drawn to rotate a hard disk or an inserted CD (Rotational power=Torque X rotational speed) end up as...
