    I2C/SPI IC frequency counter

o, yes I have access to several FPGA development systems, but again I don't really want to spend a lot of effort. I've got a benchtop counter that already has rs232 and GPIB so I am using that now, I just think an IC solution would be that much more slick.

    I2C/SPI IC frequency counter

I need resolution to be within 1 Mhz but preferably .5 Mhz. No real other specs... it's for a test automation setup not production board. Thanks for the information nbucska! Actually a coworker told me to try Maxim, I'm giving one of their app engineers a call.

    I2C/SPI IC frequency counter

I need a frequency counter that can operated from about 10mhz-300mhz, and I'd prefer it be an IC that supports a standard kind of 2 or 4 wire communication - I'd basically like it to operate as if it were an ADC. I tried googling and looking up stuff couldn't really find a part that fits the...

    Basic GPIB setup

I have an HP3488a switching unit w/ 10-channel multiplexer. All I need it to do is automatically switch between channels at the rate of 10hz (I am sampling 10 different resistances, each at 1hz, with the same DMM). I do not have access to labview, Visual studio. So I suppose this means that I...

    need help with SMT layout

Please bear a newbie question; this is my first experience with Orcad's layout software: How do I make a drillhole for sending wires to the other side in the main layout (what I am doing now is just creating a testpoint in my capture file and the autorouting seems to go through to the other side...

    need help with SMT layout

Thanks for the replies. "large bus running to multiple ICs. You set up the netlist so only the bus is in the picture then let the router at it." I'm not sure what this means, can someone clarify? I am thinking rails and planes for commonly used signals but not sure.

    need help with SMT layout

Hi guys, This is my first SMT layout. I'm converting a through hole design so I've gotten the 1206 and SOIC variants of all possible components and have some questions (using Orcad): 1. What wire width should I use? 2. Any general tips for the routing? I played around with the layout for a bit...

    Need an SMT diode

Thanks a lot. This seems to be a bit bigger then 1206; just to verify, I should be able to use the 1206 footprint?

    Need an SMT diode

Hi, I'm converting a circuit to SMT design, and in looking for diodes (general purpose, for signal rectification) on digikey, I can't seem to find one in the 1206 2 terminal package, closest I can find is a SOT-23 3 terminal package. Digikey lists a lot of packages that I'm not familiar with...

can you recommend some brands? Thanks for the reply!

high gloss coatings for carbon fiber?

Hi all, I'm just wondering what material is usually used for a high gloss piece of carbon fiber say for presentation purposes. varnish? sanded epoxy? Thanks, Ambert
