Greetings everybody,
I am putting together a U-Control Chart (Nonconformities per unit)and seem to be getting a negative LCL. I've checked my formula and seems correct. What does the negative LCL mean? Thank you in advance for your responses. It will help me a great deal.
Data will eventually approach normality as n increases, and is free from special and common causes, but we shouldn't assume that any process follows a normal distribution until normality is proven. You could be faced with a situation where the manner in which you collected the data was not...
Greetings,
I am putting together an X bar-R chart and I want to know if my data is non-normal (did this by plotting z scores and not getting a straight line) does the formula change for the control limits. If so, what is it? Thank you in advance for your help.
Leanne,
On the first link you gave me it shows five steps to calculate process capability. I am confused about one thing though. My data showed that it was non-normal so I went ahead and transformed it by grouping the data n=109 samples into 3 groups, took the average, and calculated the Z...
Greetings fellow IE's,
I work for a distribution center where we have a sorter system that scans boxes from overhead and diverts the boxes down the shipping lanes and to the trailers. I am trying to calculate the Cp/Pp,Cpk/Ppk, but am having trouble figuring out if my Cp is accurate. I am...
Hello Fellow IE's:
Had a question regarding data that appears to be somewhat bell-shaped curved, but I do not recall if there is a definite calculation that will tell me whether or not the population follows a normal distribution. I am looking at starting SPC at my site on our sortation system...
I want to thank those that have responded, and please keep the feedback coming. Your feedback has already proven to be very helpful. Thank you
