    hi, my procedure like this: -head--->shell--->head--->manway--->sump as a nozzle without flange--->sump head--->select parent nozzle. but i can not flip this sump head even though i clicked on flip icon. pls instruct me.

    gap should be 2mm. but i can not find where it is mentioned in ASME code. Maybe you refer to part UW or Sec. IX ASME Code, or AWS welding hand book.

    Yes, you right. I just tell him that the equipment is required PWHT by process reasons (on data sheet)specified by Contractor or by applicable code, the document shall be submitted just for checking PWHT procedure. It is done by vendor.

    hi, - loads imposed to nozzle shall be taken from piping engineer with piping stress analysis sofware or from supplier if it is mounted with machinery such as agitator. and then you have to perform strength calculation for this nozzle with allowable stress based on nozzle material by software...

    MJC, i just wonder when skirt, bracket, leg is used for supporting vertical vessel? is it depended on size of vertical vessel? diameter, length of vessel, loading, etc.? TPN.
