    Master database error

    If I'm reading correctly in 2006 it may have been a microsoft problem. I am running SP3 on XP. I put an e-mail into my VAR. if i get anything more than "it will be fixed in the next service pack", i'll let everyone know. thanks to all for your support. Man this is a great knowledge base.

    I launched Solidworks this morning and recieved the following error message "unable to open master database". I closed and restarted and it seems to be okay. Any ideas on what this was? I'm using : SW2009 SP1.0 NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500 pentium D CPU 3.00GHz Windows XP (Service Pack 3)

    I prefer to put them in order of assembly also. How ever certain engineers/design approvers, when they can't find anything wrong with the design they tend to pick on ticky tacky things..... Works great thank you.

    That is correct Handleman....I don't want to re-order the bill, just the balloons. Now after using the software for 9 years, i have to use my first macro....I'm sure i can figure it out, with the help of this forum of course... Thanks again for all your help.

    Is there a way, on a stacked balloon, to put the item numbers in order? SW orders them default by the order you select the components. I would like to re-order so they are ascending numerically without having to pick them in order.

    Ceramic Shear Key

    shaft is a cheap component, compared to the 100k of damage because the shear key didn't shear quickly e-nuff. long term solution could be a clutch, but while this is out for remediation i'm searching for a key that will shear faster than the brass.

    On the drawing view right mouse click and select properties. Be sure that keep linked to Bill of Materials is checked and select the BOM from the drop down list.

    brian, in 2007 it is a RMC then save as. LMC does nothing. I found that saving as a text file then opening in excel, you do not have the comma issues.

    using sw2007 sp3.0 i have been coping and pasting sw bom from bom contents to excel. Is there a way to directly export sw bom to excel?
