You may start training from UG help and CAST. UG help is a "very well" prepared document. Also CAST is very helpful for practicing. After you read "all" information about your interested topics with practising what you have learned, I can guarantee that you are no longer a beginner.

Hello FXjohn,
In my opinion it is the core capability what makes UG, CATIA etc. softwares high end.
It is the basic way to "mathematically define" your model to understand, use or modify at all times not for you but also for the other UG people.
I also think sketches must be fully...
Hello Ben,
I am pleased that you were end up with Vericut and will be switching to 4gig HP's. Because naturally Vericut need lots of RAM and while checking long programs with small tolerances it can easily reach 2 gigs. If your system would have less, it could give "out of memory" error.
I...
I was using Vericut 5.3/5.4 for three years when I was a NC engineer.
It was a magnificent experience to work with Vericut software and in my opinion it is the best. You can "see" what is going to happen to the certainity of practically .001" if you have a powerful hardware. I recommend you to...
Michael,
Thank you very very much. Your method solves my problem perfectly. By using point filter(choosing quadrants, center etc.), I can manage to fix its rotation and make it fully constrained for many different mating types(mate, distance etc.)

I would like to learn the reason why NX creates a parameter called "positioning dimension parellel distance set to zero" when positioning with point onto point.
Since the point that the feature will be attached is already positioned for an appropriate design , in my opinion that parameter must...
I would like to know how can I achieve a fully constrained mating for a "read-only" axisymmetric part if it does not contain planar referance(datum etc.) inside. In other words, I would like to know how can I lock its rotation(s).
Thank you very much.
I recommend not to transform sequential milling operations but always create them again. By the way for most of the cases I recommend variable contour instead of sequential milling.
I would like to know how can I assign different colour and translucency values to layers so that I dont have to use "edit object display" for each object in different layer.
This knowledge would help me a lot for automatically assigning standard colour and translucency values to objects in...
I am using powerful UG NX2 CAM and in my toolpaths while using corner slowdown, if the toolpath corners twice and the length of the toolpath between these two corners is smaller than the percent tool length that I entered, I found out that the speed doesn't slowdown in between these corners and...
