    Fresh Water Generation

I work for a sim company and need to mathematically describe a fresh water generator that would be on a ship. A similar model is shown here http://www.brighthub.com/engineering/marine/articles/66786/image/69487/. The issue is that I only have a couple known variables, and too many unknown. I...

    small refrigeration/evaporation device

Okay, I just did a little experimental test and I have a flow rate of 35mL/min through my tubing. However, I can put it in a reservoir in line with the tubing to slow it down. Sorry I can't provide many details as I am just trying out ideas at this stage and only need ideas of possible...

    small refrigeration/evaporation device

    1. the amount of water is small, enough to be pumped quickly through 12 ft or 1.5mmID tubing. 2. needs to cool it at a fast rate, but the deltaT is only 5 degrees F 3. I am hoping to find something 3"x3"x.75" 4. restrictions are that it should be safe to carry on your person. So, nuclear power...

    FE exam forum

My suggestion is to get the latest equation book and study that. That way, you are not spending most of your valuable time looking for the right equation. That is what helped me the most and I went to the refresher courses and have the review book. GET THE EQUATION BOOK! It will be well worth it.

    small refrigeration/evaporation device

I need a way to cool water flowing through a 1.5mm ID tygon tube. It needs to be something pocket-sized, and I am having trouble coming up with anything like this. Any suggestions? Thanks.

small submersible pump - high flow

I need a pump that is small like an aquarium pump, but has high enough flow to pump water through a 1.5mm ID tube for a length of 12 feet. The water needs to be pumped through at a rate to keep consistent flow, not dripping, but it doesn't need to shoot out. Anyone know where to find something...

    model foot as mass-spring-damper system

I am trying to model a prosthetic foot. Sorry for not clarifying better. I am only using a 1 dof system because I cannot take apart the foot to measure the k and m of each part separately. I am trying to test it and model it as "equivalent" springs and masses meshed together.

    model foot as mass-spring-damper system

I am trying to model a foot as a mass-spring-damper system in free vibration. I have done impact tests and am trying to get the model to match the experimental data. I have tested the foot using several different deflection rates quasi-statically to get an equivalent spring constant function...

    FE Exam Review books

I used this book (might have been an earlier edition, I took the FE ~2 yrs ago). The thing I found most helpful is to buy the equation booklet. Basically, you need to really familiarize yourself so you don't have to go searching during the test.
