Keeping Full History of design drawing?

Does anyone know a way I can keep the full history of a design made in CATIA when transfering it to Solidworks? Is there any third party software to do this, or better yet, can it be done directly? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Can I create a shell model with Solidworks?

Excellent! That's exactly what I was looking for. I guess I overlooked that menu when I was looking for a way to create this geometry. Thanks!!

Can I create a shell model in AutoCAD?

That's kind of like what I'm after, except that I don't want all the segments. If I could get a smooth surface, that would be perfect. What I'm looking for is a zero thickness shell of a part that I can apply a thickness to in a FEA tool. I just don't want to create my geometry with that FEA...

Can I create a shell model with Solidworks?

Well, to clarify, I am only trying to build a model for FEA analysis using Patran, so I need a shell surface of zero thickness. When I import the geometry I will apply a thickness condition. As far as I can tell Solidworks can't do the zero thickness shell.

Can I create a shell model in AutoCAD?

I have a sheetmetal part I need to recreate for FEA that I want to do in another program. All I want to do is create the shell geometry and then apply a thickness to it in the FEA tool. Can I create something like that with AutoCAD (2002), or is there another program I should be using?
