    NX12 Color Palette Size Issue

In the roles palette, try using presentation -> role high definition. If your laptop/monitor is a high DPI display, this will help to size up the elements in the UI. www.nxjournaling.com

NX Open: WinForm + Mask Select Body

Add "theForm.ShowDialog()" near the end of sub Main to show the dialog again after the selection. Note that you will also need to add code to handle the dialog cancel event. www.nxjournaling.com

    Format Painter in NX drawings...................

Right click the label that you want to change and go to 'settings'. In the settings dialog there is a section called "Inherit"; change the settings source to "selected object", then select the object that you want to inherit from. www.nxjournaling.com

    NX Assembly Cloning Issue

The check marks that you see in the assembly navigator indicate the load level of the component. A check with NO box indicates the component is minimally loaded (a lightweight representation is used); a check with a box around it indicate that the component is partially or fully loaded. When...

    errors in editing

Fair warning: the optimize face command will remove the parameters of your model. www.nxjournaling.com

Export points coordinate from NX to txt

Saving the information listing to file then parsing that file seems a bit awkward. It would be easier to query each point's coordinates and write them out to a text file (csv) directly. The point object has a .Coordinates property that you can use to get the X, Y, Z values. www.nxjournaling.com

    errors in editing

I suggest running part cleanup with all the simple and moderate options turned on along with the "delete unused objects" option. If that doesn't help, I suggest contacting your first level NX support. www.nxjournaling.com

NX unite command issue - tool and target do not form complete intersection

Rather than uniting everything into 2 bodies, I'd suggest using feature groups to gather the fence bodies into one group and the machine bodies into another group. Name each of the feature groups appropriately. Also note that you can rename individual features in the part navigator to help...

    NX Home Customizing.......

You are currently in "touch mode", you can toggle off the pointing finger icon in the title bar to turn it off. This may or may not bring back the icon labels. If it does not, you can go into customize, right click on a button icon and choose "show label". www.nxjournaling.com

    NX hide command

A screenshot that includes the assembly navigator (or part navigator as appropriate) might help. I realize it is an assembly, but I'd like to confirm which application you are currently working with (modeling, drafting, routing, CAM, mechtronics, or other). www.nxjournaling.com

    NX hide command

What version of NX are you using? Can you provide more explanation of "dashed frozen objects"? perhaps a screenshot would help. Are you working in modeling, drafting, or some other application? www.nxjournaling.com

NX stop working when we loose internet.

How are your NX users connecting to the license server? If they are working remotely and connecting via VPN, then losing the internet connection will be a problem. www.nxjournaling.com

NX: How to ignore touching pairs in Clearance Analysis and only review for hard interferences?

The clearance zone is kind of the opposite of what you thought. When you define a clearance zone, you are telling NX to report any parts where the gap is smaller than the specified distance. So if you specify a 1mm clearance, NX will report any components that are within 1mm of each other - even...

What is the VB code to close NX part file?

Ian's Excel BOM code is fairly complicated. I suggest that you start with something simpler. In this particular case, I don't think that closing parts will speed anything up. www.nxjournaling.com

SIEMENS NX 1973/ File templates can't be loaded & Internal error: memory access violation

After the file occurs, open the NX log file (file -> help -> log file) and scroll to the bottom to see if there are any error messages that give you clues as to what is happening. If not, contact your NX support and send them the log file(s). www.nxjournaling.com

    law curve from equation

Start a new metric file and import the expressions (attached). They give an output without any error messages, but I think I made an error somewhere as the output is only 1/4 of a circle. However, I hope that this gives you something to start with...

Request for addition to future NX

Right click on a component in the assembly navigator -> properties -> general -> name. The name you enter will show up in the "component name" column. You can then search or sort on these values. There is a "comment" column in the part navigator; you can slow double click on the cell to...

    Fill surface - continuity issue

Try selecting the edge of the existing surface instead of the bridge curve itself. You can't make a surface tangent along the length of a curve because there is nothing to be tangent to. However, if you select the edge, it can reference the underlying surface and create a tangent constraint to...

If the journal works on the old computer with NX2007, but does NOT work on the new computer with NX2007 that indicates that it is a configuration issue and not necessarily an NX or journal code issue. Do you still have access to the old computer to check its settings? If so, here are a few ideas...

    color palette...

According to the log file, the journal executed with no issues. Is it possible that the colors in the part already match those in the external CDF file, causing no change in the part file? If not, I'd suggest contacting Siemens support with your files so they can have a look. www.nxjournaling.com
