I'm trying to run remaining life calculations. I need to know the minimum required metal thickness, I just can't seem to find anything as clear as section UG-27 is for cylindrical and spherical shells. I'll look through appendix 13 more carefully to se if I can find what I need.
Can someone guide me to a formula to figure t-required for a rectangular pressure vessel with flat sides (Fin-Fan header box)? I'm thinking of using the Sect. VIII flat head formula for lack of anything else. (I'm doing remaining life calculations.)
Thanks!

I aree with you on putting equipment out of service that has yielded. But is a material automatically considered worthless if it yields? There are standards for bends in piping and tubing, and if pipe or tube is bent, it has yielded, right?
Anyway, we agree that the damaged...
Can someone give me guidance on how to go about evaluating piping that has swollen due to frozen water/product inside? I cannot find any black and white criteria for acceptance. Obviously, best practice is to cut it out and replace the deformed section. Is there a method out there to evaluate...
