Need to bond EPDM sheeting to Aluminium deck on a yacht

Is this the same as Alodine? I used this on the boat before. Can I just sand the surface, whipe with MEK and then wash with Alodine?

Need to bond EPDM sheeting to Aluminium deck on a yacht

I know that the surface prep of Aluminium is vital, but the suppliers of adhesive don't seem to agree. Loctite's rep told me to just clean with MEK! Can Iask for a recommendation ? Please!

    High SG thermoplastic rubber

"Assuming the rubber has a density of 1.0 and the Magnetite 5.0 you need 83 weight% filler to get a composite with a density of 3.0 g/cm3." I can't see how one could get such a high filler loading? I need to find a filler with an sg of about 12.

Fillers to get a final sg of about 5?

It's for a mining application where they Ned to simulate ore densities. I need to match the s.g.'s.

    High SG thermoplastic rubber

I don't think my moulding machine would like this though.

Fillers to get a final sg of about 5?

We do need the sg of 5. We have looked at using Soft iron powder as used in Sintered metal components(sg7.8)but the part should be non-metallic.

    High SG thermoplastic rubber

Hi, I have a client who is wanting us to mould parts in a Thermoplastic Rubber with an S.G. of 3.2 (and other parts with even higher SG's). I have a compounder nearby who can compound the material for me, but he only has experience with Barium Sulphate that will give us an sg of about 3. any...

Fillers to get a final sg of about 5?

Hi, I need to run a job in HTV Silicone rubber with an SG of about 5. Any idea of fillers that I could use for this? I will need something that is reasonably priced and freely available. It will also need to run through my injection machine.

    Extreme UV resistant Plastic?

Hi Pat, sorry I'm new to the forum and I seem to have posted the question twice. I have no idea how to get rid of the duplicate.

    Ultimate UV resistant plastic?

The part is basically just a carrier, so there isn't much force involved. Room temperature, black(so this would add some stability,no chemicals involved really. It just sits in the wastewater discharge from a sewerage treatment plant and cleans the UV emitting tubes sterilizing the water. I am...

    Extreme UV resistant Plastic?

I have been asked to mould a replacement part that is used in a UV sterilizing plant. The part holds a rubber wiper that cleans the glass UV tube. The part is about 15 mm from the tube so it's getting a really good dose of UV! The part supplied is made from some kind of fibreglass filled...

    Making Silicone Rubber metal detectable

Thanks, but I am concerned about it effecting the properties and I also need the mix to be FDA approved for food contact. Do you know of a metal powder that would meet this?

    Making Silicone Rubber metal detectable

Anyone know how to make Hot cure Silicone Rubber metal detectable? We want to mould some seals for a bakery and the parts need to be able to be detected by their metal detector in case they break up and land in the bread.

    Bonding thermoplastic rubber to steel

Thanks Dwight, I am waiting for samples from Lord Chemical at the moment, but I wondered if there were any other suppliers of similar products?
