Scott,
I am doing a similar thing to ctopher and MM, I work with a few of our floor engineers on a weekly basis or whenever I don't get kicked out of the conference room I reserved. We go over tips and tricks, basic modeling stuff. I am tying in our PDM system as well so they can understand...
CBL,
Thanks for the SPR's, I have not as of yet reported it to my VAR, I am one user of many, and I am checking internally to see if anyone else is seeing it. I have informed our SW admin about it and will talk with him later.
I will keep digging and I will contact my VAR.
Thanks for the...
All,
I have done a search on the forum and not found anything like this popping up. I have a moderate sized assembly that has one of the components defined by a design table. There are 12 or so unique configurations in the design table. These parts are then used in multiple subassemblies...
CBL,
I don't believe it is corrupt, I think there is like Mike said, a gap or an open profile.
Mine is not exact, but close enough for what I use them for.
It is also possible that in my use of it using design tables, I messed something up in my original sketch that did not have an impact...
I have not been able to directly find anything wrong in the original sketch, however, using teh self created one worked beautifully.
Therefore there must be something wrong with the original.
Thanks Mike and Dan for the help.

Thanks Mike,
I will take a look for those kind of things. In the mean time I am trying to recreate the profile from scratch as well.
I will let all know if this does it.

I have created a custom weldment profile, based on Aluminum extrusion profile downloaded from 3dcontent central. Whenever I attempt to use it as a structural member Solidworks hangs for a few seconds, then crashes to desktop. I have created other profiles, simpiler ones and have had no...
Thanks Anna,
I thought about that as well. I may still do that, at this point I am working off calipers and mics to get what I need. I am trying to get a decent nest for the valve in order to add the plumbing that is used in the assembly.

Chris,
Yes I found it as well, they just seemed to have the same models that were on the Asco website. I did not see any others, especially the model I am looking for.

I need to get my hands on a solid Model of an ASCO Numatics, Red Hat II, solenoid valve model EF8210G004V. I have looked on the company website, and the other usual suspects, even searched here. Does anyone know where I may find this valve?

Metric thread may be a good call, I will have to look at a slightly larger size than M24. My current piece is ~1.3125". Possibly an M33 with a 2mm pitch. Thank you for the information, it gives me a further starting point than I had earlier.

Hoping someone here is familiar with Gotha tapping heads. I have a machine with 3 of the Model 203 heads on it. This machine is one of my reliability headaches. The heads have a threaded shaft that we are having trouble determining the thread size due to wear. We cannot find prints of the...
gearcutter,
Thank you, it has been a rough couple of days and I did not look as closely as I normally would have.
I have found the correct link and now will be able to compare the measurements I get. Another new venture for me, dealing with gears. As a Manufacturing Engineer very little of...
Thanks for the link gearcutter, unfortunately it only appears to be for metric units and I do not have a metric gear...know of any sites that deal with inch gears?

I need some help determining what measurement I should get over wires of a known size. I have 3 different gears to measure and would ideally like to use the same size wires? Anyone know of a formula to determine the measurement over a given wire size?

I would second dingy2's suggestion, and add that the ideal way is to set multiple indicators on the various diameters. This is how I was taught to check concentricity. However I have also found that in most cases runout is what the designer really wants to have checked as concentricity is a...
ten,
Search this forum, you will find a great number of posts on the topic of improving/optimizing speed of workstations for Solidworks. This is a topic that comes up frequently.

I found a great deal of information on Pivot Tables on Datapig Technologies. It is a website I found when I was doing searches for Excel info a few years back. I ended up having my company at the time get a membership to the site. You may want to check it out.

Could reducing the die clearance help, the tool may be trying to extrude some of the material into the die.
Just a thought.
