Deflection of circular plate with hole

@ pperlich: nice advice!. no worries i am quite relax). do you think that one can reach Exact solution?? well offcourse NO. The plate it self is simplified so at least i need an exact solution for this simplification. if i simplify the simplified solution i will get rubish. Rather than that FEM...

Deflection of circular plate with hole

that is good to hear, well this is another part of the story, offcourse we as Engineers want to make things simple as Possible, but Not simpler as Einstein said. This means lets go deep in theory understand it then if we have the key of theoretical knowledge then we can open any door without...

Deflection of circular plate with hole

Hallo shaneelliss, i think we miss the definition of Enginnering. if you are Practicing Engineer who copy formulas and apply them to find approximate solution with reallity and you sure thats work. then good luck but please be sure to do test your component befor it is used by humans. i wish...

Deflection of circular plate with hole

Hallo, @ SAIl3: -your approach is correct for certain accuracy. Roakers formulas are useless for an Engineer who want to understand the origin of these formulas. i dont want to use blind approach without analytical derivation. and in the internet i couldnt see derivations of roakers formulas...

Deflection of circular plate with hole

Hallo Stephan, i guess this is advanced Strength of material problem or as you said can be as 1d Element (FEM) represented. However, Roakers formulas are simple and can not be approximated to this problem because: - a/b Ratio is too small - non-uniform cross-section i can solve this problem...

Deflection of circular plate with hole

Hallo, i would like to know an approach to this problem. i am stuck and can not find how to relate the angele in the solution because it is circular. - please chek Photo Best Regards Timo

    Damge progression in material

Hi vicky, i guess you want to model crack propogation. If you deal with isotropic Material model and under unidirectional testing you can do that and this the easiest failure creteria. How everything, if you are dealing with composites original nonhemogenous Material your intrest is to find how...

What really counts in judging component failure.( Max. Prince. Stress, von mieses.)

Thanks cours, Regarding to my little experince, static loading is very deterministic. If part fail at ex. 10 MPa under static loading. I guess failure Progression ocours earlier in dynamic loading. The idea is to Start with static stifness and i would like to know if Anyone knows a method where...

What really counts in judging component failure.( Max. Prince. Stress, von mieses.)

Hallo dear Friends, I have a FEM model which should fullfil the technical Standard sent from OEMs. . Component stifness should be Not less than 200 N/mm under static loading. The question as Follow: 1. Who can explain me which type of Stress Evaluation really counts. And what is the idea...

First career advice: how to deal with a bigheaded, pretiontious and concieted colleague?

Hallo, Regarding to what i observed at work, being nice type Who gives to much tolerances get more Used and Interrupted. I remember what my father tells me (let your work talk). I appriciate your time writing These useful advices. Tymore

First career advice: how to deal with a bigheaded, pretiontious and concieted colleague?

Hallo dear Friends, i am fresh Engineer working in a R&D fiel Since april 2015. I am disturbed by on of the employee Who started his Job in the Same Day with me. The difference between me and him is the degree. He is phi and i am M.Sc..the field of work is New to both of us but he is so...

    Eigen-value Analysis

Hallo friends, I have calculated the eigenvalue of orthotropic plate in FEM, how i can calculate the eigen value analyically??? is it not (the critical buckling load/refference load)?? thanks!

Load Displacment curve ?? the slope of the curve is E1 or E2 or E12?

sorry, but i dont think you have understand my question! thanks in advance.

Load Displacment curve ?? the slope of the curve is E1 or E2 or E12?

Orthotropic material is brittle so when its breaks you dont actually have to much placticity. it is plate.

Load Displacment curve ?? the slope of the curve is E1 or E2 or E12?

Hallo guys, it may be a simple question, i had to compare experimental result with FEM. in experiment my structure is less stiff than FEM for the case of compression 400mm specimen with 10mm thickness (orthotropic). 1- Why? 2-what is delta(F)/delta(u)=E. what is E in case of orthotropic...

Abaqus Explicit/Dynamic: why it is not possible to use Augmented lagrange contact algorithm??

Hallo friends, Abaqus Explicit/Dynamic: why it is not possible to use Augmented lagrange contact algorithm?? is it due to change in mass matrix during dynamic simulation. and what does general contact means??and how it works? Many thanks!
