Hello Everyone,
I am trying to develop a process involving calcination of limestone under low pressures. Before i go further i need to know if it is worth it, ie. the cost of vacuum pumping.
The pressure working range would be around 10-100 mbar (abs).
I could use Rotary Vane or Liquid Ring...
Hello dear colleagues,
I am looking for data on bed to wall (and immersed surface) htc in fluidized beds of lime (and / or limestone) at Temperatures >500C. FB combustor data are typically the ones i'd need. Does anyone know where to look or at least a ballpark figure i can use to have a rough...
Hello dear colleagues,
I am looking for exp. data on bed to wall (and immersed surface) heat transfer in fluidized beds of lime (and / or limestone) at Temperatures >500C. FB combustor data should be good enough for the stage i am at. Does anyone know where to look or at least a ballpark figure...

Hey thanks for the links,
On the process side, the fluidized bed-to-wall htc is expected to be 200-400 W/m2/K so it should be quite similar. I did the calculation and it apears that to achieve the reaction in the time i need, it requires 1 m2 of exchanger / 0.185 m3 of fluidized bed reactor in...
Hello,
Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately i can't allow any pollution.
I have read the numerous threads concerning the uselessness of superheated steam as a heat transfer fluid.
However, maybe in the case i am working on it may prove to be the right answer because:
I have 2 reactors...
Hello everyone,
I am trying to build a lab-scale experiment for shifting syngas. I need to heat it first, though. The flow would be around 5 l/min and i can't add steam into it. I thought adding electrical elements in a H2 containing gas is not very safe, and currently lack ideas.. does anyone...
Hello everyone,
thanks for the very quick replies.
To answer 25362's question, yes i was considering burning hydrogen and using the resulting gases to supply the heat, but was wondering about the material constraints on the heat exchangers.
Hydrogen burning not being ideal for this...
Hello,
I am trying to design a Fluidized bed reactor where i have to supply large amounts of heat to the solid bed at high temperatures : 600-800 C.
A large part of the heat has to be supplied indirectly, through immersed in bed heat exchanger tubes, and will be supplied either by combustion...
