Choosing glue between FRP and aluminum

What should i take in to considerations when I choose a glue between aluminum and FRP (PET). What I have come up to is the following 1. tensile strength 2. coefficient of linear expansion (but for this on It vary with temperature and stress since we are working with plastic) 3. adhesive...

If is for massproduction so it need to be cheap, do you think it would work with a self piercing rivet, since it is plastic material we r talking about ...

Seeking suggestions for mechanical fastener between fiberglass reinfor

I am doing a little project and i need to find different mechanical fastener. The idea is to add fiberglass reinforced PET plastic with aluminum by some fastener. It may need to take loads of 2,5kN till 5kN, but don't worry about that, just se this as the first step in design, so plz feed me...

    Two simple ansys questions

I don't get any result, in the nodal or element solution, my conlcusion is that you must put pressue on a area not lines for solid elements, the problem is that i can't do that. (when i put it on a area it work but not when i put it on a line) That is why i hope i have missed something :( ...

    Two simple ansys questions

Thx for your reply! I got the following error message when i used the Sbctran command Selected areas attached to line 31 are not meshed. Surface load PRES on this line is not transferred. Loads will be transferred to meshed areas attached to this line.

    Two simple ansys questions

Thank you Cnamitma, but that don't seems to work on solid models for some reasons, I don’t get anything when I plot the stress or the displacement, but it works if you put the pressure on nodes, keypoints or areas.

    Two simple ansys questions

Hello i have goten in some problems with my ansys model :( 1.How do you put pressure on lines on a solid model, now I place forces on each nod for hand, which is quit time consuming (i would guess that they want it 2d, but then i have to make a very very small area). 2 How do you deactivate...

Question concerning bending stress commando for beam4

Hi! I have done a model for which I have used beam4 element, I have with the element table plotted the torque and then used the SBYT, SBYB commando (SBZT, SBZB) to plot the bending stress for that axis. The problem is that the bending stress and torque plot of the same axis, don’t correspond...

Question about beem4 concerning element table

How do i get the shear stress for the beams I have made, I have check in the BEAM4’s Item and Sequence Numbers in the help file but it don’t make me any wiser :(. When i check the help file for BEAM4’s Item and Sequence Numbers, do i only find commando for the bending stress in y and z axis...

    Concerning direction to draw lines!

When you work with line elements and draw lines between keypoints, then you have to think to draw them on the same direction, else you may get strange result when doing a torque diagram so I have been told. That is something i found troubling especially if you have a fem model with many lines...

    List nodal stress with Beam4

What i get with that interesting set off commands are .. STAT CURRENT CURRENT CURRENT CURRENT ELEM MY_SMAX_ MY_SMAX_ MY_SMIN_ MY_SMIN_ 1 2700.9 2700.9 -2700.9 -2700.9 Which is nice, but not what I was seeking for, you see i need to...
