Length of pipe to cool air

Hello all I want to cool down air from compressor from 140 °C to about 50 °C and use this heat to warm up around 10 l of product having Cp 0,92 kj/kgK and thermal conductivity 0,167 Kj/m.What should be the the length of the copper pipe assuming any reasonable diameter(3-10mm). Thank you for...

Design an online moisture absorption desorption system using waste hea

Hallo all I want to design a system using waste heat from a process to regenerate the bed of a continuous absorption desorption unit. It consists of two beds in which one bed is regenerated while other is in use(pressure swing cycle). The unit is used to remove moisture from oil free air. Any...

    MW heating in reactor

Hello logbook Do you think the scattering the beam will help in uniformly heating the bed? May be that ll help just uniformly heating the top layer not deep in the bed. The reactor is around 250 mm in diameter and 500 mm deep.SiC is a very stable material.I dont think its decomposing. Regards...

    MW heating in reactor

Hello I am using MW to heat SiC in reactor(V = 12 litres). I am facing two problems. The energy required to heat the bed at constant temp of 160 °C is ever increasing. The temperature distribution in the SiC bed is also very bad, temp. How can i solve or improve these conditions? Regards Fahims

increase heat transfer in a bed of SiC

Hello All Can anyone please suggest me how can i increase heat transfer in a reactor bed filled with SiC(1-2mm particle size). The heating element is on top of the reactor attaining a temp of 250°C at the top layer. The reactor length is 450 mm and diameter 270 mm.Thanks in advance. Regards, Fahims.
