if i am giving only dead load then how the selfweight of the member is applied on structure. Even if i am using truss members at dead load analysis each members shows shear and bending moments.can anyone explain the meaning of applying dead load.
what is the meaning of master slave connection in staad pro and why it is used. is it always necessary to use that. can anyone please brief it with an example.
hello oldestguy what is the nature of your job sir ....either designing or execution.....

After spending 2 years of work as an site engineer i wish to do my m.tech in geo technical and geo environmental engineering .
I want to know the career oppurtunity that i have aftermath of course completion and also nature of work apart from teaching.
hi,
I have seen many times the shape of pile cap is always curved in the end i.e..facing the water side.is it releated to the structural load transferring mechanism or it is for making the water 2 flow freely..
hi,
I have seen that during placing of concreting using tremie in bored pile they are placing a air pipe or vent pipe in the hopper to allow the flow of air and i had also seen many times air coming out from the pipe,my doubt is how air struck inside the pile when it is full of bentonite...
what i came to know from the field is while concreting (bored cast-in-situ pile)using tremie pipe if the concrete does not go through or if it get struck up in the middle of concreting they call it as a choking
ours is 1.2 m dia,and depth is 45m
In our site our water table is at a depth of 2.5 m,one time during placing of concrete the bentonite solution oozes out from the near by soil,is this a condition of presence of artesian ,and also we are using auger for boring and bucket for removing.and the client was not interested in augered...
sir thanks for ur valuable reply ..if the sloughing is occurs in range of
32 m why it cannot be removed at the time of flushing, and because of caving the amount of concrete should increase but we kind of saving concrete ...we are using bentonite solution for flushing.the worst part is that we...
thanks for ur reply sir, our's is auger boring, and the depth is 41m below the cut off level,we are placing concrete by tremie method, and the geo-report is as follows
0-1.5m=sandy clay with gravels
1.5-6m=stiff brown sandy clay
6-10.5m=stiff greyish sandy clay
10.5-18m=dense blackish silty sand...
hi,
I am kartik, currently I am working in a bridge construction (piling)whenever we are doing the piling,we kind of saving 2 or 3 m3 than actual I don't know whats the problem ,somebody saying it is because of collapsing and i am not sure about that.our pile dia is 1.2m and we are using 1 piece...
