Haha! Yes I am a bit obsessed. I try to replicate things exactly. The person who made this probably does not know what that little assembly is. Just pulled it out of a box of stuff. You do no believe the geared assembly is one piece? Just gears cobbled together? I will look at farm equipment...
You are correct in that the gears or whatever they are do nothing and are just for looks. They served no mechanical function at all. However, the parts on the wheel are real world things and it appears to be an assembly of some sort. I was trying to identify it for replication.
Also, I apologize for intruding into your forum. I just don't know who else to ask. I figured if anyone could crack it, it would you be guys.
Thanks for your time!
It is. A steering wheel from the movie Fury Road. Trying to replicate it and cant figure out what this dang part is.
Here is one more:
There is also one more part I cant identify, but thought I might make it.
I only have this one descent picture unfortunately. All I see when I look at is can openers... Perhaps the inside of a gearbox of some kind. What it is from is part of a steering wheel I am trying to recreate. The part was just stuck on there and from a junk parts box, so no one really knows...
