Can anyone identify this?

It has four gears on it. I have an idea of what it is in my head and cannot see past it. Any help is appreciated!

My helpful suggestion would be to provide lots more information if you have any, and really expect more "help."
Portions of the mechanism shown are rusty enough to suggest it is part of some outdoor equipment of some sort.

As a start, are all four "its" in your OP the same "it" ?

I only have this one descent picture unfortunately. All I see when I look at is can openers... Perhaps the inside of a gearbox of some kind. What it is from is part of a steering wheel I am trying to recreate. The part was just stuck on there and from a junk parts box, so no one really knows what it is.

It is. A steering wheel from the movie Fury Road. Trying to replicate it and cant figure out what this dang part is.
Here is one more:

There is also one more part I cant identify, but thought I might make it.

Also, I apologize for intruding into your forum. I just don't know who else to ask. I figured if anyone could crack it, it would you be guys.
Thanks for your time!

I did not see the movie. My guess is the sprockets are for the "look" and do absolutely nothing! If it is a movie prop, then why expect it to actually work?

Walt

You are correct in that the gears or whatever they are do nothing and are just for looks. They served no mechanical function at all. However, the parts on the wheel are real world things and it appears to be an assembly of some sort. I was trying to identify it for replication.

The toothed wheel on left is probably a chain sprocket. The thick tooth wheel is typical of a chain drive conveyor; like a manure spreader (yes I worked on one) or hay bailer. The toothed wheel on right may be a gear or chain sprocket. Considering the other junk came from vehicles, I would look for junk farm implements. You are really obsessed, if you are trying to replicate this crap exactly! Just saying!

Walt

Haha! Yes I am a bit obsessed. I try to replicate things exactly. The person who made this probably does not know what that little assembly is. Just pulled it out of a box of stuff. You do no believe the geared assembly is one piece? Just gears cobbled together? I will look at farm equipment.
Thanks for the advice.
Regards

Looks to me like it's the drive spool of a motorized roller chain hoist, or maybe even a roller chain conveyor.

Strong is correct- the large toothed wheel on the left is a chain sprocket (for roller chain). The two gears at opposite ends of the shaft most likely mate with the drive on one end, plus the backup brake on the other.

It is a number printing wheel assembly off an old Heidelberg printing press.
Thanks for your ideas and suggestions.

"It is a number printing wheel assembly off an old Heidelberg printing press."

Could you describe how you got this information?

Thanks,

Walt

Sure. I finally, after months and months, tracked down the guy who made it.
