Checking if shoring post design is adequate to support

I just wanted some help. I do not have a senior engineer to look to. There is no lateral bracing for the shores. Only posts are proposed to be used. I figured that getting the gravity load to the shores would not be a complicated task, but I just want to make sure.

Checking if shoring post design is adequate to support

I distributed the 1,500lb/lf dead load of the wall above into the slab above as a load per square foot. Then found the worst case tributary area of an individual shoring post and applied the load and saw that that was less than the capacity of the post. I am not sure if I am oversimplifying...

Checking if shoring post design is adequate to support

Good Morning, I just want to double check if the shoring layout attached is adequate. The existing masonry wall is to be removed and supported by the shoring until a steel beam and posts are put into its place. The dead weight of the wall above is 1.5k/lf, there is no live or roof load. The...

    3/8" Plate Design

The vertical member is an angle, correct? If it is that is something along the lines of what I am thinking of

    3/8" Plate Design

There is no way this design is going to work, I am having it scrapped and changed.

    3/8" Plate Design

I found a formula for deflection at a cantilever beam with a moment. The middle diagram of the attached. But, what would my max allowable deflection be? https://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=d0643d70-124e-4f34-b29f-b7ba17d5f415&file=cantelever_beamjpg.jpg

    3/8" Plate Design

Sorry, the distance of the load to the plate is about 7 inches

    3/8" Plate Design

I do not have risa3d or a similar program. The anchoring is pretty big. It’s anchoring into a 9” structural slab every 16”. There is a plate with a bolt every 16”

    3/8" Plate Design

I am trying to figure out if the 3/8" plate can handle the moment and deflection from the weight of the brick on the angle that is welded to the plate. I do not know how to approach this. The plate and bolts are spaced at 16", I already have factored the spacing into the loading from the...

They are normal approximate 6’-0” windows

    Brick Shelf Ledger Angle Design

The relief angles need to sit on top of the windows to catch the brick. Can always pose to put an angle above the windows and at the slab.

How do I move the thread?

    Brick Shelf Ledger Angle Design

I just noticed that the reveling angle is only 6", I agree on using an 8" angle. It looks like the bolt is 4.5" to slab bottom and the thickness of the slab is 9". 1/4" weld typical. Agreed, may want to consider using an angle instead of a plate.

    Brick Shelf Ledger Angle Design

Hello, I am looking into checking to see if what is shown in the section is sufficient for the reliving angle for the rick. The 3/4" anchor bolts are a single bolt spaced at 16" O/C. The brick span/relieving angle span is about 13'-9" and the height of the brick is 15'-0". I believe that I would...

Railing post embedment in concrete calculations

Thank you very much, I will look further into this.

Railing post embedment in concrete calculations

I cannot find resources for railing post embedment in concrete and railing strength. There is a 1.5" DIA. railing pipe post embedding into a ramp.
