    Heatpump Fan Not Running

I changed the thermostat to a Honeywell thermostat and set the fan as auto. Now the fan stops after a while, but the compressor fan still does not work. The capacitors are tested fine for both compressor fan and blower fan. Thank you for your help!

    Heatpump Fan Not Running

Compressor fan stops working while blower fan is consistently running. I need your knowledge and wisdom to resolve the issue. Appreciate! Heat pump is RHP13410A24J. Manual is following.https://www.hvac.com/media/manuals/installation/RHEEM13PJL.pdf Issue: when shorting Red wire and White wire...

Line disconnect switch at line side of the wave trap & tuner?

All, There is a question regarding the location of line disconnect switch and line wave trap & tuner. As you may notice that wave trap and tuner is always installed at line side of line disconnect switch. The question I get is why not install the line disconnect switch at line side of the wave...

    soot blowing cycle

Thanks, rmw. I will talk with the sootblower vendor once we select one.

    soot blowing cycle

Thanks to all. Smartengine gave me the info I need. Have a great day, every one!

    soot blowing cycle

It is South Africa bituminous coal. It is low slagging coal, so I think one cleaning cycle per shift is enough. Thanks.

    soot blowing cycle

I am working on a 100 MW boiler proposal. In order to estimate annual coal cost, we need to know how long we will run the sootblowers. I have 52 sootblowers. Can I assume each sootblowers need 2 minutes to finish sootblowing, so total sootblowing time per shift would be about 100 minutes? I...

PC boiler at 30% MCR load, how many PA fans will be in operation?

I have not bought this boiler yet. I hope I knew a power plant operator so I can ask. Thanks.

PC boiler at 30% MCR load, how many PA fans will be in operation?

Thanks to all. I knew I should ask my boiler supplier about this question, but it is too early to do so. I have read some documents and figure it out. As Boilerone said, it is really depending on the air system design. For a hot PA fan system (one fan per mill, located downstream of Air...

PC boiler at 30% MCR load, how many PA fans will be in operation?

I am working on a PC boiler (100MW) unit and trying to calculate aux load at 30% MCR load. We have 2 PA fans, 2 FD fans, and 2 ID fan. 3 pulverizers. I knew that at 30% load, one pulverizer will be put into operation. At that time, the ID fans and FD fans will be up and running. However, I...

Regenerative air heater vs. tubular air heater

Thanks, rmw. I have the steam book and read it. But i do get good info from this forum. Thanks!

Regenerative air heater vs. tubular air heater

Thanks for all the helpful recommendation. I am more familiar with regenerative AH and have not worked on the tublular AH before. For a 100 MW boiler, what size of the tubular AH would be? Will it require one AH only? Appreciate your response.

Regenerative air heater vs. tubular air heater

rmw, what is your recommendation for the approach temperature for plate type AH and Tubular AH? Thanks.

    steam coil air heater

we are going to build a power plant in warm West Africa. I plan to eliminate the use of SCAH. Is it acceptable?

Regenerative air heater vs. tubular air heater

I am trying to specify the air heater type for an 830,000 lb/hr (378 metric tph) utility PC boiler. The fuel S content will be under 1% and I will set the flue gas exit temperature at air heater outlet to be 20-25F above acid dew point. For this size boiler, is tubular type air heater more...

    PTC4 corrected efficiency calculation

BTW, do you know what method shall I use to take natural gas or oil sample?

    PTC4 corrected efficiency calculation

It is the test to show compliance with contract guarantees. Thanks.

    PTC4 corrected efficiency calculation

When I use PTC 4 to calculate the boiler efficiency, I always perform a tested efficiency calculation and a corrected calculation and then compare the two efficiencies to make sure the difference is below 2% since we always pick a test fuel close to the design fuel. There is a different...

Strange fault event - 3 phase fault, Single phase fault or others

The transformer is Yg-Yg-D connection, and it is a wind farm. SEL-351 relay is at 115kV side and generation level is very low, about 1MVA. So, the Yg-Yg-D xmer is function as a grounding transformer for a fault at 115kV transmission line, so all three phases contains only zero sequence current...
