I am trying to find out what type of iron is used for crank shaft material.It is a motorcycle type crank and we don"t what to go with forged so we are looking at ductile iron just not sure about the grade.
After we cold saw the gears and polish the surface to check core hardness is there a chemical that you can put on the surface to let it discolor from were the case hardness starts to were it fades?
