Hi ManoloGalarraga, what I was told was that we would keep the originals on file, but that the MTRs included with the 3.1 certificates that we supply to customers with the valves would be "our" version of the MTR and not a summary.
My understanding is that if we obfuscate the source of the MTR...
Thanks for the input gerhardl, that was my understanding as well.
I was told that reason that it came up is that "some of our competitors" are doing it.
The background is that we are a valve manufacturer. We receive 3.1 certs for all of the metal pressure containing parts; bar stock, forgings, castings.
I produce a 3.1 certificate that notes the heat numbers of the materials used and includes copies of the supplier's MTRs for these materials...
