    coupling calc

Sorry. The rod will travel 22 inches in 30 sec. The max pressure in the cylinder where the piston is will be 7500 psi. It is controlled by hydraulics with a relief set for 7500 psi. Won't be any acceleration.

    coupling calc

Sorry. Yes you are correct. On the actuator side behind the thick shim there is a retainer washer, has a tab that fits in the key way on the shaft. The two couplings are held together with the fasters, SHCS's.

    coupling calc

loads go one way when piston downs down then the other way when piston goes up.http://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=0b3c6be5-ba91-471d-8ac5-a5e86a8a1e2e&file=Doc2.docx

    coupling calc

I have shafts both threaded on the ends, piston and actuator, connected by a screwed on coupling bolted together with a shim in the middle. This is for ease of installation and removal. The loads are along the shafts. What is a good calc to use for proper bolt size, coupling mat'l, coupling...

    Measuring steam flow rate

Sorry. The steam is coming from a turbine. The drain from the turbine I am interested in is supposedly 420 psig @ 470F. It passes thru a 1 inch diameter orifice where it is connected to a condenser at 29 inches of vacuum. The line after the orifice is what is to be measured. Yes there will be...

    Measuring steam flow rate

The pipe is 4", nom OD is 4.5 CRES316L. The system is designed at 100 psig/275F. It is a steam system.

Companion Guide to B&PVC VOL 1

Can the subject guide, 4th Edition Editor K.R. Rao, be used as a respected reference in design papers ?

    Measuring steam flow rate

Is there a way to measure the velocity of steam through a pipe?

    Elevated heal lot mechanical properties

    Great. Thanks Edstainless.

    Elevated heal lot mechanical properties

In my case these were certs for flanges made to ASME A182. Wouldn't the flanges retain the elevated properties on the certification papers ?

    Elevated heal lot mechanical properties

    The material is CRES316L.

    Elevated heal lot mechanical properties

Is there any data suggesting the higher heat lot properties at room temp. will parallel the curve of the mechanical properties of said material at temperatures ?

    BPVC VIII-1 Appendix 2

You are so correct SnTMan. It doesn't satisfy Apx 2 after going thru that long calc. Guess that will remain a mystery forever. Thanks for every ones help.

ASTM A182 Heat lots hope this is correct forum

I have flanges made IAW Subject spec. What is the process to get to these flanges? Is the material cres316l come in big ingots IAW 316L mat'l specs then forged and retested before cutting down? Just want to now cradle to grave.

    BPVC VIII-1 Appendix 2

    SnTman it is B16.5

I have a socket welded flange that will have a pipe welded to it. Which do I use for the flange calc, loose or integral type flange?
  18. kpl012

    ASTM-A182

I guess I need to know the process for making flanges IAW the subject specs. Is the mat'l, say 316L, purchased by a manufacturer then what would be the continuing process, working, testing, etc..?

    Class 400 psig flanges B16.5

Why is there no information regarding the subject flanges in smaller sizes?

Code Case 2577 Sec VIII Div 1

Can anyone tell me what the subject case is ? Perhaps a screen shot.
