Thanks for the replies. It’s 2 hypothetical scenarios, 1 is welded, the other is flanged/bolted. I agree with SnTMan. I do not see anything in section VIII div 1 requiring a pressure test of the part. I am assuming that any pressure testing would be by agreement with the purchaser or per...- tanks a lot

I have an ASME part (U2) being fabricated. It is a change in materials and thickness from the original. The part will be welded to the existing Pressure Vessel in the field by an R-stamp organization. The work on the vessel as a whole will be an alteration.
