    Thanks Mike I agree with you that at least seem to be the logic thing to do! But I am really surprised that the code "allows" that. I havent found anything that contradicts that Lets see if somebody find something Mydea is that that detail are weld with hub, and if weld encroach on"e" thickness...

    Moltenmetal REgarding the longitudinal efficiency take into account that most materials for welded tubes for heat exchangers requires RT and efficieny is 1, identical to seamless....you cannot use thinner thcikness changing from welded to seamless
