Hello friends. I mostly do refrigeration work and I need some help in regards to a/c system design.
I´ve noticed that in many supermarkets, there are no air ducts or registers in the medium/low temperature refrigerated cases section. I guess that the cold air escaping out of the cases keeps the...
It´s my understanding that some fruits while being stored in walk-in coolers promote corrosion of the evaporators. I´m developing proyect specs for such an installation and would like to know what should be the material / coating of the evaporators for a grape storage application. Thank you.
I just read in some specs a requirement in regards to the application of some blown-in insulation they call R-19. Is "R-19" just the tradename, or is it the actual R value of this insulation once it´s applied?
Hi Willard:
I don´t really know if there is a concern regarding money/coin related odors or contaminants for such an area. That´s why I´m asking for some advice. My guess is that for ventilation requirements this can be treated as any normal banking area, but I´m not sure.
Going back to a previous post, I was able to get the manufacturer´s data regarding the heat output of the automatic money counting machines. Now I have another question: in such a 2000 sqft money receiving/counting/sorting area, for the ventilation cfms of the air handler, should I use minimum...
Thank you both for your answers.
There still no final selection of the counting equipment manufacturer. When you talk about breaker settings, is that used to calculate volt-amps and then get an approximate heat equivalent? Thank you.
I´m doing a preliminary heat load estimate for a large bank´s money counting room. They are planning to use some kind of industrial-sized counters which even use vertical tank air compressors for some purpose. Any idea on where to obtain info regarding heat output or cooling requirements for...
Good evenning fellows and thank you all for your responses.
1. There is only a main suction pressure reading port at the compressor service valve. I´ll have to pump down the refrigerant and stop the chiller in order to have some access valves weld on the suction lines for each evaporator.
2...
This marine chiller seems to be a custom made unit. It uses a variable capacity screw-type compressor coupled to three identical shell-and-tube evaporators. The water outlet pipe of each evaporator runs independently, before being combined into a single main outlet pipe. Simply stated, the...
I mostly work in design/installation of commercial HVAC systems. That´s why I don´t see myself like a transport refrigeration engineer. But I hope some of you are. These are the facts.
I friend of mine has come to me with an emergency. He recently bought about 8 used refrigerated trucks for his...
Thank you both of you for your kind responses. I understand that there´s no magic number of tons when deciding when to install chilled water or DX, but more or less as a rule, for NEW well designed single owner commercial buildings (no retrofits), without any special space limitation, nowdays I...
Dear fellows:
I´m facing my very first design job of a large A/C system. Most of my previous designs involved residential and light commercial DX systems, but this one is of industrial size. I remember from a seminar that there´s a particular system size range where the benefits coming from...
