Hello,
thought ISO 3183, there is equivalences between API 5L Gr.B and UNE 10208 L245 specifications.
Then, Asme IX recognizes une 10208 L245 as P1Gr.1 by API 5L Gr.B description?
I thing so because asme ix recognizes UNE10028 and 10216 materials in lates edition.
Yes, i am agree with you, to qualified operator using GMAW shor-circuit process must be by destructive testing and RT. As I already comment, UNE-EN and ASME require it, but API is not.
The main trouble to destructive testing is the price impact, as usually.
thanks to all
By 12.6 "The completed weld shall be tested by destructive methods, non destructive methods, or both" and shall met the requeriments of 6.4 thought 6.7" Therefore, RT testing is enough applying 6.6 though short-circuit transfer mode is used.
thanks to reply me, but still it is not clear to me.:
It means that additinal operators (no the operator that already qualify WPS)are qualified just by radiography testing?
Reading 12.6 is is clear that to qualify operator "it is necesary destructive test, non destructive test, or both" so it...
Hello,
a client ask me to be under IACS rules for welding works. I have already qualificate my welding dossier by ASME and UNE-EN by notified body.
Then, is it enought or other company like LR or DNV must certify my welding dossier? Maybe is only my client who should be under IACS rules and...
From my point of view, if you take into account the most critical welding parameters carfully during PQR qualification, you dont need new PQR. Weld practics are necesary to qualify WPS and sense to farther aplications, i guess:
If you qualify by 5G/3G, take parameters at 0º, 90º and 180º as...
Your explanation have been extremely honest.
Copy, Paste and send to my collegue....answer: Everyone agre with you but said to fu*** inspector on behalf of client.:)
I have a colegues talk about which is the exact T limits in mm from inches.
The 5 mm Tlimits for WPS range is convert from 3/16", but as it is comment on nonmandatory appendix G, the value should be 4,75 mm. This value is in the same that API data.
In case of pipes thickness of 4,8 mm if my...
By 255.1:
- QW 403.22 point out QW-453.
- QW 403.20 point out that each P number grouping or combination must be qualified separetaly: P1-P8, P1-P1 or P8-P8.
- QW-216 point out that test coupon and testing of hardfacing or corrosion are quiet different that groove welds.
Hello metengr,
but just taken into account QW404.12: it is possible to change a filler material ER 308 for ER 316, if the original PQR was qualified with ER 308 (with impact test requeriment)?
About the desing code i am not sure if it is ASME VIII, the only information is for valve for...
Hello, i have a question about QW 404.12 in case of GTAW process with impact test requeriment (-196ºC).
If a filler metal classification (ER 316 to ER 308) is change in the same SFA specification (Both filler material are A5.9), i must requalified a PQR.
But, there is several exeption (maybe...
Hello, i have a concept problem with ASME B31.3:
- Welding ASTM 312 TP304 (maximun thickness 24,5 mm) for low temperature services (-196ºC) based in gas company specification (ENAGAS EV-10). It is specified ASME IX as qualification procedures code, and ASME B31.3 as engineering design code. ...
Hello,
if the design specification does not require impact test, your WPS is qualified to any P1 to any other P1. It is not necesarry specify group nunbers
I mean 3 mm plate to construction proposes.
Therefore, you are saying that multipass per side is independ of the welding technique used during PQR qualification. I thought that the esential/suplementary variables apply for each technique.
Thanks
I am sorry, the exactly question is this:
I have qualified a PQR (P8 and T=5,5 mm) welded by GTAW (t=4 mm deposited by TWO pass) and SMAW (t=1,5 mm by one pass) with CVN requirements. Then:
- It is possible to weld a test coupon of 3 mm by one pass only with SMAW process?
- QW-410.9 must be...
Hello,
I have qualified a PQR (P8 and T=10 mm) welded by GTAW (3 mm deposited by one pass) and SMAW (7 mm by 3 passes) process with CVN requirements. Then, it is possible to weld a test coupon of 3 mm by one pass only with GTAW process?
I mean, the QW-410.9 Multi to single pass/side take into...
