I use this trick as well. I just installed 2017 and was frustrated to find out I could no longer do this.
No idea how to fix yet myself; I'm still looking around!
I had renamed some configurations the other day. When I open the assembly now - it is prompting me with a message:
'the following configurations could not be found. If they were renamed the same configurations will be used'
(or something close to that).
Shouldnt this message stop once I...
Nah. It wasnt the references. I had tried that (opening individually, then the assembly), plus I know the reference paths were pointing in the right area. The design tree in the assembly just wouldnt update for some reason.
I ended up re-inserting and mating files into my assembly (there...
Im trying to unsupress files in an assembly we have in our PDM vault.
I know the location of the part files. I know the references are pointing to the right location and the file names in the references agree with what the files are actually named. For some crazy reason though, they arent...
I'm looking for a good way to mirror a large assembly without doubling all my files. This is a case where I'm probably ok to use a dumb-solid as the mirror version (instead of something with editable features). I was thinking I would do a save-as on my assembly and create an iges of it with a...
ATI FireGL 7200
Downloaded the newest driver for it for SW2008 off SW website not but a few weeks ago even.
I havent really had any graphics issues though (unless this turns out to be my first).
I suppose it could be some kind of fluke - I just feel like I've got to be missing something...
- yep
- yes
- yes also
Double checked my display filter under tools, options, document properties, annotations display also and I have feature, reference and dimxpert dimensions all checked. Display assembly annotations below is checked also.
For some reason, the ref-dim shows up when i...
Yes. I was trying to just print a picture of the model with dims showing (without necessarily throwing it into a drawing). I don't know for sure that I've ever tried it before; I thought I remembered being able to do this in past versions of SW, but i could be mistaken here.
I know it lets me...
Im having a nasty time getting my reference dims to stay when i place them in my main assembly ('tis getting rather large in size; 8000kb or so). Let me explain-
The goal here is to simply plop a few dims into my assembly and run off a few tabloid size prints for a customer (its a room layout...
Thanks all.
Yea, I called down to tech support last week and they sent me a copy of the latest software (i had originally received SW2008 before 3.1, which is why i had nothing that would load on the vista OS).
Works well now :)!
Someone at my company recently purchased a laptop with Vista x64 OS on it. I knew SW2008 was built to run on Vista (32 at least), but I'm wondering if they are working on a patch for 64 or if they currently have anything.
Anyone have any ideas here?
Thanks,
Jay W.
Hrmmm. No go yet. I uploaded a picture of this. Maybe it will make a bit more sense.
Right now the brackets that you see are driven to their positions based on lengths of a wire harness that they mate to in the assembly. I have mated the base plate with distances from its faces to the...
I was able to edit the base plate in the assembly. I just put 15-20 tapped holes in and was able to snap them central to the mtg. holes of the brackets, but is their a way to set relations in the assembly (my goal is to get these to update when i switch to an alternate config)? I must be...
Im currently working with SW2007. I'm designing 2 fixtures to check length tolerances on this wire harness. One fixture will check the mean part print dimensions, one will check the min. part print dimensions. I have one big bass plate and about 15 different riser brackets with clip-blocks...
I keep getting an error - "open clipboard failed" - every time i try to insert a part into my assembly file. Im running sw2007. Ive got the newest sp. Anyone have any idea what the problem could be?
Sometimes ill pull in a parasolid file and for whatever reason when i zoom to fit the 3d file ends up being way the heck off to one side in perceived distance. Is there some way to reset the screen center so that zoom-to-fit actually does zoom to fit?
Thanks,
Jay
