    After digging deeper it seems that you, Phillpd, are right and licenses are indeed needed to run Grip programs. This really is a bummer but that's life. Thanks to you both for the replies.

    Just a dumb question our system-administrator can't answer: Is a license needed to execute GRIP? I know it is needed for compiling but for executing I have no clue.
