PE coated steel pipe- What type of method is this?

Hi, I have got this pipe sample and can not figure out on which method or process was used for coating it with HDPE? I went through the 3LPE processes explained in the web and it doesn't seems to be the same process used with this pipe! the HDPE coating in the picture is like casted not...

Material grade (Stainless steel) distinguishing problem!

We are having corrosion problem with some bolts that are supposed to be stainless steel(A2), when we sent a sample to a chemical analyses agent , we have got a chemical composition report differ from BS EN ISO for grade A2(Austenitic). Now, when some elements(C, Cr,Ni, etc..) abundance are...

Why we use higher pressure than the normal operating pressure in..

So that's it! especially when the pipes and all joints and flanges are made of plastics, that higher pressure can shake the system and reveals any installation defects. thank you all for inlighting me! desertfox, what do you mean by adverse condition and how it can be happen?

Why we use higher pressure than the normal operating pressure in..

Hello Any body knows why we use a higher pressure than the normal in Hydrotests in water pipelines? and is it just ok to make the test in the normal operation pressure? thank you

Why U-PVC pipes are not recommended for distributing potable water?

Hello! I heard that U-PVC pipes are banned materials in some municipalitys over the worldAre there any health risks associated with U-pvc?What are the pipe matirials we should not use for potable water distribution in small networks?

    Pipe sizeing problem

Katmar, thank you for your time, I believe it won't make big deferent if you choose a deferent pipe material or adding fittings and valves, in term of pipe size selection, calculations and software confirm that. I have chosen copper just as an example; otherwise I can go with HDPE or MDPE...

    Pipe sizeing problem

Katmar, this is a screen shot of my software, and I may discuss the other issues you have raised later on.http://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=0a4d1452-4108-4f70-982a-d3a42860b8c2&file=270m3.JPG

    Pipe sizeing problem

ok guys! applying "Energy equation" and "Darcy equation" assuming p1=1 bar, p2= 0.5,Z1=0, Z2=3m,Vsqr.1=Vsqr.2(removed from both side of Equation) solve for hf,=2.1m Darcy Equ. D=(8(fL/hf)(Qsqr/PisqrXg))1/5 assume f=0.001, given: L=20, Q= 0.075m3/s and hf=2.1 Therefor, D= 85mm using Moody...

    Pipe sizeing problem

Quark and Gerhard thank you for your response Just want to correct one thing! The total demand is 2160m3/day = 90m3/h, and we are going to fill the tank within 8 hours; therefore the flow rate would be 270m3/h. My most concerned is how to do the calculation rather than logic.

    Pipe sizeing problem

Hello... I am struggling with calculating the pipe size diameter for real life problem, suppose I want to supply water to a premises from munsipality main line and the data I have: Water demand= 90 cubic meter/day Avilable pressure at tie-in = 1 bar Distance from tie-in point to the premises...
