Stormwater remediation and erosion control recommendations

This appears to be in Florida. Easiest solution is to move to a state that is more than 10' above sea level. #

Best material to use to level concrete pad

Reading between the lines, I would bet it was a larger pour of the main foundation or other elements, and OP was hoping there was enough left over for the hot tub slab and ran a little short. #

4" Loamy Sand over 6'+- Sandy Clay Loam - What rate should you use for drawdown?

Ask whoever is telling you that, how does the 4" topping loam magically increase the infiltration rate of the underlying soil that receives the water? #

    Contract Clause Question

I think your original version is closer to the "standard of care" required for engineers, assuming the "consultants" you are contracting are for other engineering services. The 2nd version has more superlatives, like "high quality" and "best industry practices" that seem to exceed the usual...

back pressure valve for sewer forced main.

Maybe a pressure sustaining valve? Requires a certain internal pressure before it opens, so should keep your pipe full until the pumps kick back on. #

    PIPE BENDS

Could it be the arc length of the bend they want? A 60 degree bend, but not bent so tightly so it has a larger radius and that's the arc length of the bend, perhaps. #

Wind Uplift Forces on Cold Storage Roof

So, even if that were true, what about if the wind blows during construction before it's chilled ... or if the freezer is taken offline for repairs/renovation. Would you be ok with the roof lifting off then with your stamp on the design? #

The 3 most used AUTODESK software......

I would guess plain AutoCAD, Revit, and Civil 3D but that is purely a WAG based on experience and may be biased by the industry I'm in. #

    Building geometry concern

Just when I thought this thread might finally die, it comes limping back to life. On the positive side, if BA keeps going even I (a lowly site civil) might be able to design a building by the end of this! #

soil heat transfer/temperature change air drain

It's not in his profile directly, but if you go to the Google Drive link in his profile, then his e-mail address is at the top. #

Yikes-Target Damaged due to Hillside Collapse

It looks like they scalped off the top of a hill and filled the edges to make the flat site pad. I read it was some leaking pipes that caused the recent failure, but I would imagine it was settlement or partial slope failure that led to the leaking pipes that then exacerbated the slope failure...

    Another big recall

My dad's favorite version of that is "If I could buy you for what you're worth, and sell you for what you think you're worth, I'd be a rich man!" But Swinny's engineer version is great on its own. #

Resources on Small Distribution Systems with VFD pumps and no distribution tank....

Look into Fire Flow Requirements too. If your water system is feeding hydrants or sprinkler systems there may be a minimum storage requirement volume that the wet well can't meet. #

    Site Development

As long as the coordinate system (datum, basis of bearings, etc.) is clearly stated, then I've seen it done that way in some cases. I would recommend labeling the survey monuments (or property corners, etc.) with N/E also so the coordinate system can be recreated/checked by someone using the...

Reinforcement in Concrete Curb & Gutter

Anecdotally, I've never seen reinforcement in Curb & Gutter in the western US (OR, ID, WA, AZ) anyway. #

    Guardrails and Sideslopes

I don't have a copy handy Dik, just recalled where the recommendations could be found from back in my (brief) stint in Transportation design. Good luck Althalus. #

    Guardrails and Sideslopes

I think that's covered in AASHTO's Roadside Design Guide - you might check there for more details. #

    Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii

Iowa also has just over 1,000' of elevation difference from it's lowest to highest elevations. While California has almost 15,000' and a lot of forests and mountains. I don't think mowing it is any more feasible than Trump's suggestion to rake the forests. #

Tourist submersible visting the Titanic is missing

I think that is coming from James Cameron's interviews where he said there was evidence/reports that they had dropped their weights and started to ascend. He had apparently spoken, in the early hours of the event, to insiders who must have provided that information, as I don't think any evidence...

Waste Water Construction method Using PVC Pipes

Agree with Ag, best to check the standards for the jurisdiction you are working in. Cities, Counties, and other agencies will often have Public Works Standards and Specifications or similar publications that dictate bedding and backfill requirements, pipe materials, and details for manholes...
