POINT IO with a CompactLogix (RSLogix5000)

OK, problem resolved. But only by dumb luck I think. The overall design required a output module and 2 input modules so a total chassis size of 4. There are two places to set this, one in the web interface (that for some reason was already set to 4) and in RSlogix5000. If these do not match...

POINT IO with a CompactLogix (RSLogix5000)

Making VERY slow progress on this problem, and Rockwell tech support is unresponsive to my questions as well. This is why I try to stay away from AB, software is archaic and support is non-existent. So I have two modules physically connected to the AENT module, and Ethernet tied to the PC and...

ControlLogix 1769-L30ER to RSlogix500 ethernet issue

Well, of course right after I posted I found some info... used the BootP to make sure I had the IP set correctly. Then finally found a dialog box that said...cant talk to it because you need a firmware update. Well of course I do... It updates the firmware, or at least reports its doing it...

ControlLogix 1769-L30ER to RSlogix500 ethernet issue

In RSlogix5000, under the communications tab, who active, I see the IP address of the PLC showing (Im guessing) default of 169.254.0.1, but as an unknown device. I've set the the address of the PC to static, giving it an address of 169.254.0.2, mask of 255.255.255.0, and gateway of 169.254.0.5...

POINT IO with a CompactLogix (RSLogix5000)

I'm using for the first time POINTio consisting of an ethernet module 1734-AENT and a 1734-OA2 and two 1734-IN4. Within RLSlogix5000, I've added the 1734-AENT under the IO config and ethernet. But I do not seem to either find where the actual IO modules are added, or even addressed. (BTW this...

    latching LED array

Ever looked at flip dots? www.flipdots.com You would still have to do the circuit to drive them, but another potential solution

Updating a panelview thru the ML1400

Is it possible to update the panelview1000 thru the ML1400 when I have the connection over ethernet?

    ML1400 analog outputs

OK, got it to work. O:0.4 holds the value 0-4096 for a 0-10V output. Sometimes the obvious...isnt so obvious....

    ML1400 analog outputs

In RsLogix500, there is the MOV instruction, and I had tried that but its asking for word level address, and that makes sense since the outputs are binary. So whats next...

    ML1400 analog outputs

According to the programming guide, output words 4 and 5 have the analog values. So how do you put values in there? I know..its a simple question but...I cant create a data file for O4 and O5, so how do you control the two analog outputs?

    IPad & Micrologix 1400

I'm going to think, that since the ML1400 has a built in webpage, if you put the ML1400 on the network that the iPad can also access via WiFi, you can get to it that way. Since the iPad only has wireless connections, you could run an intermediate application on a PC or other host, and this...

    ML1400 to PowerFlex VFD

OK time for an update. Going with the suggestion of moving the programming over the ethernet, got that up and working thus freeing up com0 for the VFD interface. I have a 8pin mini din cable (PM02)but turns out they don't bring out the RS485 pins (what happened to pinning everything out???)...

    CHARMS IO from Emerson

Have a customer that wants to run our equipment using a CHARMS IO system from Emerson. Anyone have experience with this? The signals are pretty basic, couple of limit switches, a door interlock and motor starters. I'm thinking this can be run direct to it but I dont have any specs on the IO...

    ML1400 to PowerFlex VFD

thanks guys for the response. First of all, the PV1000 was provided by the client so I had to get it to work with the RS485 interface and now that I have it working...dont really want to touch it. However, I hadn't really thought about using the ethernet to download the program to the PLC but...

    ML1400 to PowerFlex VFD

OK...final piece to the puzzle. Right now I have the ML1400 talking to my Panelview using a 1761-net-AIC module. I'm using the DIN connector input from the PLC DB9, and the terminal block connecting to the PV1000 RJ45. All is good there..its working great. I have two PowerFlex VFDs that I...

    timer control

Here is another possible solution http://www.pic-bee.com/LFX_main.html You can program the relays to pulse on and off, etc over the serial interface. Also has IR control as well.

    communications from ML1400 to Panelview1000

Eddie THANK YOU very much....figured it was something simple...just sometimes you stare at something for so long and nothing seems to make sense. Its working now. Again...many thanks!!

    communications from ML1400 to Panelview1000

Eddie I've tried to simplify the PLC code and the PV code just to make sure that nothing there was causing issues...essentially it made no difference. I have attached that test code here..see if you can find out if the comm are just misdirected or what...

    communications from ML1400 to Panelview1000

If I set the PV1000 to some address...say 8 I get the error 613 required network nodes not found....searching on that tells me that its communicating but its trying to address something invalid in the PLC?
