Thanks for your answer.
Since I'm using lots of substeps and storing the results only for the last one, I'm not sure it would give accurate results in my case, but its a good idea, I could even ask for the complete solution for all the substeps, do the necessary calculations, and then output...
I'm using the parametric design language to model a dynamic problem using the BEAM54 element.
I need to take the angular (or rotational) velocity in some nodes to use them as initial conditions.
I can do it in the graphical user interface, using the "list results" option of the pos-processor...
I'm using ANSYS LS-DYNA to model a case where certain constrains, velocities and loads must be applied at an arbitrary time during the analysis.
They cannot be defined entirely at the start of the run, because they depend on displacement, velocity and acceleration results at the time.
To...
I'm trying to model a large section of soil subjected to impact loads.
Since the soil should behave like an elastic half-space, I need to set some non-reflecting boundary conditions (NRB).
According to the manual, I should select the desired nodes with the NSEL command, creating a component...
I've found it, thanks for the help.
If anyone is wondering, its just File -> Import -> Model... and then you must specify the type of file as Abaqus Input File (*.inp).
But I can only import the .inp file as a job, and therefore it can't be edited, I can only submit it and view the results.
Or there's a way to import a .inp file as a model?
Is it possible to create each individual finite element in Abaqus CAE the way you do in other FEM programs (ie, by selecting the element type and then selecting the nodes that define its geometry)?
I know its possible to do it in INP files, by defining the nodes and then creating the elements...
