Thanks for feedback. People have complained that the pump sometimes turns off. I have not found this to be the case since I was testing this under normal conditions. I was wondering increasing load might cause it to fail. By increasing load on pump I mean increasing electrical consumption.

I want to test a pump with worst case scenario. Right now, I have raised the discharge pipe to height of about 2 ft to increase the load on pump. Would raising the inlet to about same height as that of discharge increase the load? What other factors can increase the load on pump? Thanks.
