    Mirrored Sheet Metal Parts

Another method I use is to create the mirrored part. Open the new mirrored part file then insert bends under the sheet metal menu. This will make the part a sheet metal part with bend information that can be flattend etc.

    Rendering Solidworks Models

Another Solution I have found to work pretty well is Autodesk ImageStudio. It renders very well & quickly and features direct connect to your Solidworks files. It was created by Alias the makers of Maya before Audoesk bought them.

    AUTOCAD to DEGeditor...

My company completely switched from AcadR13 to Solidworks back in 2001. I have been using DWGEditor for wiring diagrams and layouts ever since. DWGEditor is more buggy and a little less frendly to use than ACAD but it gets the job done. There definately are some querks to it though. To...

    DWGeditor - opinions?

I have been using Autocad since r11 and Solidworks since 2001. DWGEditor is like a stripped down more buggy version of Acad. I gets the job done although I have had more crashes with it than with Solidworks itself. I agree with Gildashard in regard to the undo issue. I have come across the...

    sheet 2 format

In 2006 drawings, when I added a second sheet I was able to have the second sheet default to my second sheet format. Now that I have 2007 installed it no longer defaults to my second sheet format. Either I have forgotten the right way of setting this up or it has changed in 2007. Any ideas?

Thanks Rob, I'm glad it's not just something I'm doing wrong. Hopefully we'll see some fixes eventually.

    Photoworks2 Scene floor offset

I continuously have this problem where I set up a room size and change the floor offset to 0 in the scene setup. These dimensions will reset back to Photoworks defaults if I make any other changes. I then get the message "Please enter a valid number" twice. I do get it to work but only after a...

I would like to save an assembly as a solid part that I could then use cut extrudes on. Is this possible?

    Exporting configurations to .STL files

Thanks. I found that I have to export each configuration separately as an STL. To use in an assembly I would have to import the file as a dummy part them export the assembly in stl format. Seems to work fine that way.

    Exporting configurations to .STL files

I may be doing something wrong but I have a part with multiple configurations that I need to save as an .STL file. When I do the STL file is always of the "in-use" or "last saved" configuration. I need STL's of all the configurations. Help.
