assembly method for LCD in a handheld device

Is there a preferred assembly method for mounting an LCD in an enclosure? The concerns are that the LCD be positioned correctly (not off-center or rotated) from the users view. We have a small (2.4") LCD to be mounted in a handheld/portable device. The only connection for the LCD is a length...

    M8 x .35 and M7 x .35 threads

Hi CAD, The one place that responded to me with availability is North American Tool Corporation (contact info below). Apparently, they sell only to industrial distributors, but they offer to put you in touch with one in your area if you don't already have one. I have never used them before...

    M8 x .35 and M7 x .35 threads

Vielen dank Hahor, the feingewinde section seems to reference the ISO metric fine thread. I just received a response from a toolmaker that they have M8x.35 and M7x.35 taps (for >$100 at qty 1 with pretty good volume discounts) do you happen to know which standard covers such super fine pitch...

    M8 x .35 and M7 x .35 threads

they are correct. it is a fine thread that controls focus on a cell phone camera sized lens. I've found an adapter to let me use the M8x.35 lens, but I'm still looking for the M7x.35 tap.

    M8 x .35 and M7 x .35 threads

Greetings, Does anyone have experience with M8 x .35 and M7 x .35 threads? I need to cut internal threads in a lens holder for lenses that have the above mentioned threads. Do you know where I can find a tap for these threads? Thanks, -Bryan

looking for polymer as a compression spring

Perhaps "constraining something so as to control its deformation" was not understandably different than "fully constraining" deformation. Of course one must allow an elastomer to expand in one direction if it is compressed in another. However, one cannot exert a meaningful force on the...

    Agile PLM software

By PLM I mean Product Lifecycle Management. i understand there is an agile software development process too, but i am referring to Agile Software (recently purchased by Oracle) which is meant to support Product Lifecycle Management. Interestingly, your comment on buy in from the execs and spoilt...

looking for polymer as a compression spring

Mike, To use an elastomer as you suggest, would it be best to constrain it so as to control the amount and direction in which the silicone part can deform? i'm imagining a silicone rubber plug in a cavity or guide and a plunger pressing against the plug. Is this on track with the usage you...

looking for polymer as a compression spring

steel can work. I am looking for alternatives to the flat steel spring that i'm currently using. The amount of space available it pretty restricted and as a result, There is a lot of force in a small area where the spring is held. I was thinking that employing the right polymer would...

looking for polymer as a compression spring

It needs to withstand at least 100,000 cycles. it can loose some of its force (<10%), and it needs to retain its length to within 1mm. the frequency and speed of the compression is low. it is providing return force (squeeze) in a hand operated instrument.

looking for polymer as a compression spring

Greetings, I am looking to use a polymer/rubber as a replacement for a spring in a device redesign. Can someone give me some guidance on how to find a suitable compressible material? It needs to be able to produce around 55 N over .40cm and occupy no more than 1.5 cm^3. thank you -bhays
