    Piston skirt/rod length question/issues

That Hone job does not look very professional ... I'd be getting that looked at. not2fast

Side by side fuel injectors in open manifold.

Did you look at MS-Extra ? the code has fully sequential or Semi seq for Siamese setups, I realise this is not your setup but it may do what you want, btw you have full control over 720deg for the injection of fuel if that help with any charge robbing issues. not2fast

    diesel injector line speed pickup

Here's what i did for just that very purpose except it was for a timing light setup, but easily adapted to DAQ I trimmed up a Piezo buzzer element from a buzzer and soldered this onto the Rod and then filed it down to size approx 4mm wide by 10mm long on the side of a small length of 6mm rod...

How much Draw for Interference fit on a Taper

Thanks for all the replies, My thought's about the parallel shaft, is this setup more difficult to obtain a good fit between the two parts, I mean actual contact between the shaft and the Rotor in this case thats 150mm of parallel shaft. IIRC some figures for a good machined surface was only...

How much Draw for Interference fit on a Taper

Appreciate the replies, So what would you all suggest to secure a shaft & Rotor ? maybe just a Parallel shaft with 2 Tapered pins locking the shaft and rotor is more practical perhaps ?? I contacted the Guy who machines my parts he informs me that he can Wire cut a Taper inside the Rotors...

How much Draw for Interference fit on a Taper

I've had several idea's about how to secure a small Supercharger rotor to the shaft that I'm building. Rather than a conventional press fit & parallel shaft I was thinking to use a Taper of 1 degree, but I'm open to suggestions. The Rotors are 6061 Al, OD 75mm, Length 150mm. The Shaft is 4140...

    Involute curve accuracy

I hear what your saying here, my thinking is that the spline is a more accurate representation rather than the line from point to point, as the model looks like it has Facets... I'm hoping that this look appearance would not be recreated in the part. I guess I would need to look at the G-Code to...

    Involute curve accuracy

Hi All I found a macro for an Involute curve that works great however I see that the created curve in the sketch is a series of points & lines. I converted this Inv curve to construction geometry and recreated the Inv Curve with a Spline along the points that looks better. My question is whats...

Engine cooling Fan ... Blowing or Sucking

Thanks Landmark, Good old Mother nature, that makes sense well said. I'll explain this setup ... the actual intended application is using a Centrifugal Plastic Fan this is ducted (Blowing) towards the Radiator, I hear what your saying about the leaks and the Fan Housing (Shroud) and ducting...

Engine cooling Fan ... Blowing or Sucking

Ooops new bowser.. need to refresh the page to show the new replies. I've built a Box thats around 300mm Sq, opposite the Rad is the Fan approx 300mm from the Rad.

Engine cooling Fan ... Blowing or Sucking

Thanks for the reply, could you elaborate why that would be, sounds like there would not be a big difference between the 2 setups. not2fast

Engine cooling Fan ... Blowing or Sucking

Hi, I have a small Heat bench that I put together to test a few small M/C Radiators, at the moment its set up to suck air through the Radiator. I'm measuring the Depression with a water manometer between the Fan and the Rad for each test... e.g. lets say its 20mm H2O @ 8m/sec Now if I change...

    Curves through XYZ points

Sounds like it would be best to add pints to the .sldcrv file, I'm away from my PC at the moment to try this, if you mirror the loft for one half of the model will that end up being the same as mirroring all points and coordinates in the .sldcrv file and then loft ? what I'm asking is, if I...

    Curves through XYZ points

Hmmm so without editing the .sldcrv file how do you mirror the points between the first and the last set of coordinates, this curve is only one half of the measurement. 0.00 46.90 131.95 these next 10 points need to be mirrored 42.18 46.90 123.28 83.99 46.90 97.26 99.02...

    Curves through XYZ points

Hi I'm confused here about the curve through the xyz points as I cant seem to get it to import the plotted curves, I have a bunch of coordinates from a CMM and these have been saved into 3 columns as the help file on this topic suggests. here is a curve that wont open. 0.00 46.90 131.95 42.18...

    lofting a Y Duct

Hi I'm new to these forums and what a great wealth of information reside here. My question is with regards to Lofting a Y Duct like the sort thats used in HVAC, I can draw this with 3 circles located on 3 planes and extrude this but How about the loft feature is this possible ? I had 3 guide...
