    Proposing 3D to Management

We work with a lot of vendors, one came in the other day... Bastian Material Handling. Below is a link to some of their work and they use a simulation software called AutoMod... think thats it. Anyways, these guys do great simulations but thats it...

    Proposing 3D to Management

I will add that our "Proposal" drawing is the same drawing we use in the "Mechanical Package". But in the package we include some of the detail, ie. section views from the contractors. Sometimes we do create these as necessary but only if it will aid the installers. Other...

    Proposing 3D to Management

Will try and keep this simple... A customer comes to us to design a packaging line. Sometimes we charge for this and sometimes we do not. First we open the building drawing and start placing the core equipment (would be vendor drawings or ones we clean up). Second we would run all conveyor of...

    Proposing 3D to Management

MintJulep, I honestly dont know if we are going to charge a premium for our work or not. I think if it went true simulation, yes. My job is to develop the line, there are a lot of interfaces to deal with, you are correct. It is our duty, as a design/consulting firm, to get the general layout...

    Proposing 3D to Management

MadMango, I could write a whole paper about how we do our drawings but this may help understand the issue at hand. Simulation Software. We work with some automation vendors who do nothing but simulations. My comapny likes it as you can imagine. My issue at hand is to determine if line design...

    Proposing 3D to Management

I have been asked fo create a report on what it would take for my cad group to go 3D. I myself excel in both Autocad and Solidworks, and have used Pro/E, CadKey, Mechanical Desktop. My main question it to see if any of you out there do something similar to my groups function. I am a machine...

Spring Design û Change in Diameter with Compression

I would give Dayton a call. I worked a couple years designing progressive metal stamping dies and I remember doing this calc but have long forgotten. They will only be able to help you tho with die springs tho. If it's a wire spring you are dealing with im not much help...

increasing hydr pressure at end of cyl stroke

bradphillips, you are correct, my bad... been working on a project that made me brain dead yesterday and i overlooked the 48 inch stroke, sorry. I'm more of a pneumatic guy myself. What is the limiting pressure factor of your current setup? ->The max pressure your pump will generate or the...

here is the correct addy, sorry http://www.fabco-air.com/airpress.html

increasing hydr pressure at end of cyl stroke

It can be done may ways.. IMO the best way would be to replace the cylinder with a Fabco dual stage cylinder. www.fabco.com i think is their site. It will cost ya some but probably a wash considering engineering time and extra cyl's and valves. I use them a lot on hot stamping presses where i...

    Wire Rope Shearing Force

Well another thing to consider when shearing a rope/wire/cable is that the load will play a role. A cable under tension will shear more easily than one that is not. The more the tension, the less shear force required. Just another thing to complicate your study.
