    Movement Damping In Pressure Gauge.

Thanks danw2 for your valuable input. If the gauge is filled with liquid (glycerine) then I don't need to use movement damping. If there is restriction to use liquid then I have to move for that movement damping.

    Movement Damping In Pressure Gauge.

Hi, I have come up with a pressure gauge data sheet and found a parameter called "movement damping". What does "movement damping" in pressure gauge really means in data sheet? I have gone through that term and found out that "Dampened Movement" minimizes effects of vibration without liquid...

    Process condition for On/Off valve.

It was a very good consideration from EmmanuelTop for selecting compatible material for both fluids.

    Process condition for On/Off valve.

Thanks EmmanuelTop for sharing your view. The truth is that I have both arrangements in my design. If SS304/316 is susceptible to process fluid, then should V-2 be sized for CS11 and process liquid despite being the part of N2 system? Thanks.

    Process condition for On/Off valve.

Here is the pdf file of figure.http://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=6cabffe3-5fa2-49ce-8cc2-2a3482581315&file=Drawing1.pdf

    Process condition for On/Off valve.

Dear EmmanuelTop , Thanks for your concern in this matter. You are right about your concept. I have added pdf file which contains 2 possible figures and the data sheet for V-2 valve sizing. For figure-1, V-3 valve data sheet contains inlet N2 fluid properties for valve sizing. The problem is...

    Process condition for On/Off valve.

Dear jari001, You are right. The valve is yet to be purchased and it will contact with the downstream liquid. Thanks.

    Process condition for On/Off valve.

Hi, I have a data sheet of a On/Off valve. The valve is intended to be operated for N2 gas. The downstream of the valve get mixed with the process liquid. But the data sheet contains process condition(fluid properties) for liquid instead of gas. Both fluid process conditions are different at...

    Critical Pressure of mixture

Again Thanks Latexman. Forgot about the Star.

    Critical Pressure of mixture

Thanks Latexman for your valuable feedback. Is Kay's Rule is similarly applicable for liquid mixtures? Is there any dependency of Critical Temperature and pressure on operating T and P? Thanks.

    Critical Pressure of mixture

Hi, What could be the critical pressure of a mixture (suppose N2 and H2O)? Would it be the critical pressure of N2 and H2O (Both)? Or, it would be a different one other than both of these? Many thanks. Shiplu48

    Temperature chage rate!

Thanks Latexman for your input. It can be done by your mentioned procedure if I have enough data. If I want to find it by using heat of reaction (exothermic reaction) for a certain period of time would it be possible to get temperature change? Thanks.

    Temperature chage rate!

Hi, Is there any way for calculating temperature changing rate in a reactor? Would be grateful for getting any help. Many Thanks.

    Super Critical fluid

Hi, What does super critical fluid really means? As from common knowledge it implies any substance at a temperature and pressure above its critical point, where distinct liquid and gas phases do not exist. If it is that than how CO2 and water could be the most commonly used super critical...

    Latent heat of vaporization

Hi, In reply to mbt22, the mentioned reference book recommend to use relieving pressure for determining all fluid properties.

    Latent heat of vaporization

Hi, For fluid properties calculation of PSV, would the calculation be performed at the relieving pressure (corresponding of the saturation temperature) regardless of the relieving temperature and fluid phase? At section 3.3.2.1.4 of "Guidelines for Pressure Relief and Effluent Handling...

    Latent heat of vaporization

Hi Latexman, The set pressure of the PSV 20 barg and relief T is 170 deg C. PO will be vapor at relieving case. The problem is that Latent Heat of vaporization have to be determined at relieving condition. At relieving condition PO and N2 both are vapor. Then how could we get latent heat of...

    Latent heat of vaporization

Dear srfish, As per your suggestion, section 5 of the Engineering Data Book of the GPSA, I have given look at that section. I didn't found any equation to calculate W(Required Capacity)without latent heat of vaporization. But it mentions that "When no better information is available, a...

    Latent heat of vaporization

Thanks Latexman, I have Propylene Oxide and Nitrogen and other chemicals in vessel in overpressure case scenario. I have to size PSV for Fire Case (Propylene Oxide and Nitrogen will pass through PSV). For that I have to determine Required Relieving Capacity by the equation w=q/Hv, where, w =...

    Latent heat of vaporization

Hello, Is it possible to have latent heat of vaporization of Nitrogen at 1 atm and 25 deg.C, despite that nitrogen in vapor phase? If the answer is no than why ASPEN, during simulation, shows latent heat of vaporization for Nitrogen. Need help regarding in this case. Many Thanks. shiplu48
