    Mobile phone water (liquid) damage

Thanks! I know where this indicator is, it was behind memory card and on a battery (so at least two sensors). But, if voltage is low, why than this cause havoc so fast. I don't think that currents involved are above 1 (or few) mA (just guess). And again, why not some protective coating (paint).

    Mobile phone water (liquid) damage

What kind of damage water does to mobile phone (no salt, no sea water). I have an example of mobile phone that was exposed to water for less than a minute, have turned it off and pulled out battery almost immediately and dried it but it doesn't work any more (after days of drying, all methods...

    Kurtosis value fro car engine

I have downloaded some car engine vibration data and made a simpe C program for vibration analysis. However I get exeptionaly high kurtosis values in range 100-200, sometimes (for some regimes) even 300. I have checked my code for curtosis, seems good, it gives correct value for sinusoidal test...

Measuring RPM of a small motor

I don't know what kind of motor it is. May be you can try this software, it works 30 days in demo mode. http://www.esser.u-net.com/rpm.htm It uses sound card and microphone.

    Ways to identify a frequency

If there is just one frequency component you may mesure time between zero crossing or do autocorrelation to extract period and then calculate f=1/T. Regards Dubi

    sound generator

I think you need excitation too. It is different sound when you shape noise with filter bank and different when you have periodic excitation before filter bank. You could do this numericaly by using inverse FFT and excitation (some kind of pulses, even basic aproximation of Dirac pulse with unit...

    Aero engines - most cylinders

How number of cylininder affects engine reliability. I mean more cylinders, less vibration and less fatigue, but on the other side more moving parts. Is six cylinder engine more reliable then four cylinder engine in terms of total power loss. As far as I know 80% of total power failures are due...
