Avoiding large deformation of thin bit

It was imported as a STEP file (which was made from an STL file), I'll re-mesh with a finer mesh, thank you.

Avoiding large deformation of thin bit

Thanks! Here are the loads, and screenshot. BC 1 is encastre of opposite end BC 2 is ZSYM Load 1 is pressure of -1 https://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=cfd7f357-71e1-4b40-92f6-9958fb90c3bf&file=forces.PNG

Avoiding large deformation of thin bit

Hi all, I'm trying to apply a tension to a part to look for stress concentrations. I'm using a negative pressure on a flat edge to do this, PSA image. My problem is that a part of this edge is thin, it deforms loads and becomes the most deformed bit of the model, which means the whole model is...

https://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=fdcfd42a-2000-4b3c-81e0-a792f01d58cd&file=lancaster.cae I completely agree, Here's a link to the CAE file of the setup that works for me, is that everything you would need? It now works for me even with step 2 deleted. The only other change I...

Thanks a massive amount guys I've figured it out. -No .sta file was being produced so I added in another step (so there was initial + step 1 + step 2) to try and force the production of a .sta file (or something). Both steps came out fine. No idea why. Solution: Added another step and it worked.

Thank you, I'm having trouble figuring out how to switch to another frame/increment. There is a warning that 11 elements are distorted, could this have stopped it recording more than one increment? When I click on monitor, after the job had completed it says "ODB output written for step 1...

Hi guys, I'm using an object fixed at one end with a pressure on the other. When I use a very small section of that object, it runs fine (please see links), but using a larger section of the object, the job runs but displays no deformation at all. The larger mesh has 400,000 elements, is this...
