Well, I agree with the first answer to your post however, it all depends on the spacing of the existing re-bars. If the re-bars provided are not adequate, spacing and size, then the best solution would be to drill the existing wall place a re-bar in the drilled holes with proper length and then...- gita

IJR: I hope this is not too late. The "Hairpins" are used to transfer the lateral forces into the slab to prevent the lateral thrust. The hairpins are nothing but the reinforcing bars that are bent at 30 degree with specified lengths and size to resist the horizontal loads. It is not...- gita
