I have a request for VERY basic advice/ideas about a possible resonance situation. I was asked to take initial vib. data on a calcining oven we are purchasing. While taking data I noticed fluctuating amplitudes (.2 to .65 IPS PK) on 2 of the 8 zones. The 8 fans are plug fans mounted on the side...
I am seeing what I beleive to be a trend of bearing failures due to elec. arcing in some of our VFD driven motors. Does anyone have a link to some related articles so I could present a report to management to upgrade brg' types during rebuild?
I am looking for an ACCURATE calculator software supplier for bearing frequencies. I currently have The Bearing Expert from International Source Index Inc. and am finding some serious descrepencies with between it and manufacturers info. i.e. - # of rollers, dimensions, etc.
Any suggestions?

The components that have been ck'd are - brg' loose on shaft, sheave loose/concentric, and motor supports with all checking out o.k. The phase is unsteady. My data is limited...
Being admittedly poor in timewaveform analysis skills, I have a question concerning flattened/truncated waveforms.
If waveform is "clipped" through full cycle (+ to -) is this rotor rub, data taken on overhung belt driven fan, inboard bearing vertical. If motor bearing is bad could this...

I would like to get some input, i.e. where to get info, on c-face pump adapters and the pros and cons, have heard they are very good at reducing alignment and vibration issues.
