    motorcycle tyres

ramon thanks for your two cents worth, i am not worried about the ammount of testing carried out but the information available to the end user about the tyre do you buy a product because it looks pretty? or do you read the label and see what its made of or the tech spec? where is this info for...

    motorcycle tyres

so as jeyakumar has said all that is tested is Load endurance test - over a short time period does it carry the load? Speed endurance test - over a short period of time will it deform due to speed? plunger test - can it be punctured by a standard plunger? contact pressure measurement - for...

    motorcycle tyres

pat doesn't this mean that the current information given to the general public is insufficient to make an informed choice. there is info for race tyres but not road tyres, or do they not release it? many thanks fil

    Antenna

dss? satellite antennas work by 'concentrating the energy to a single point to increase the received power - think of it as a lens with a focal point, putting the horn at the focal point will allow the horn's 'mouth' see a greater signal than pointing it directly at the satellite hope this helps

    rf transmitter / reciever

use pin diodes to shunt the signal and a quarter wave transformer between the antenna and pin diode at the frequency of transmission - assuming it is the same as the reception freq or do you want to use the system in duplex mode? try a search on amwireless for t/r switches

    transmitted power

what is the difference between EIRP and PERP? is there any difference in saying +23dBm eirp or +23dBm perp? many thanks in advance

Electrically small antennas for 433 MHz

is it transmit or receive? with receive only possibly the best way would be to use the antenna as a voltage field probe and convert from high impedance to low impedance with an amplifier and balun if it is t/r then this would work on the receive side with another matching network for the...

    motorcycle tyres

greg, thanks again, so what you are saying is stick to the recommended tyre or try out some others but don't expect improved performance is it worth getting in touch with the manufacturer to see which came first - the tyre or the bike? fil

    motorcycle tyres

thanks greg, so how do manufacturers choose a tyre for a bike and why make other tyres which are not oems? i am getting to the point where i will have to choose another tyre for my bike and would like more info thean 'mine is the best' surely there are some standard tests which will show how...

i am looking for more info than the manufacturers give about the performance of motorcycle tyres e.g. what testing is required ,what info can the customer ask for ? etc unfortunately i am not a mechanical engineer - electronics- but am a quick learner can anyone point me in a direction to start...

Signal Synthesizer SSB Phase Noise measurement using an old S. Anal.

i don't think its possible with this instrument as you normally lock the spectrum analyser to the oscillator freq then look close in at the audio spectrum good luck anyway

    large radomes

you could try making it yourself using a built up mould this way you would get what you want without incurring costs of development - it would have to be very thick to support itself over this area what frequency are you radiating/receiving?

    Linear Voltage Regulator Basics

i agree with the last post - another thought is to use a switcher to regulate to 8.5v then run through the linear the power dissipation in the linear is down to 1W instead of 4.5W use the national switcher program to design your switcher have fun

    Part Numbering Scheme

why not set a scheme for utilising the type, value, tolerance, case size for instance c-106-05-0603 fo a cap 1uf 5% tol 0603 size? i have not tried this system but have heard that it may work it makes developement a breeze with engineer able to see what is available instead of having to...
