G59/2 equivalent standard in mainland Europe and America?

Thanks for the replies. As far as I can see the German grid code (and many others including the UK) refer only to distributed generators at higher voltage levels and for large and medium size generators. In the case of the German grid code the rules are specified for generators with grid...

G59/2 equivalent standard in mainland Europe and America?

Can anyone tell me what the G59/2 equivalent standard is in mainland Europe and America? Does anyone know where I can access these equivalent standards?

IEEE 14 bus system branch capacities (MVA)

When I tried to download the PQfault program my browser warned me of a possible phishing/malware attack. Have you used this software in the past? Can you verify that it is free of malware? Thanks.

IEEE 14 bus system branch capacities (MVA)

Does anyone have an information source for the branch capacities in the IEEE 14 bus system in MVA? I obtained much of my data from this website: http://www.ee.washington.edu/research/pstca and I obtained the branch capacities for the 30 bus system from the appendix of a paper. I've not been...

Power Line Carrier Communication from 11kV to 400V

I am trying to determine a low cost method that could be used to apply this blocking scheme. Any of the traditional techniques e.g. radio, microwave and fibre used in HV power systems would be too expensive. Also, I don't need the same level of security that would be required in an HV...

Power Line Carrier Communication from 11kV to 400V

Can power line carrier communication (PLCC) be used to transfer a signal from an 11kV power system to a 400V power system? The application I am investigating is to see if a blocking signal can be sent from an 11kV CB to a distributed generator at 400V. What would the limiting factors be in...

Zero sequence mutual impedance for underground cables

Thanks radug. That's a useful standard. Anyone looking for this document it's available at: https://bsol.bsigroup.com/en/Bsol-Item-Detail-Page/?pid=000000000030179166

Distribution network fault study - DC cable resistance or AC?

Thanks MAS2000. I didn't have capacitance in my original data sheet (from Utility) but I found it in the manufacturers data sheet. PSCAD lets you input line capacitance directly, saves you converting to admittance.

Zero sequence mutual impedance for underground cables

My original post was misleading. The utility provided zero sequence data for the OHL but not for underground cables. From David's post I guess this is because the OHL configuration is defined in the data sheet whereas the underground cable layout is not? This seems to agree with Kerite...

Zero sequence mutual impedance for underground cables

EDIT: As per the suggestion of another post I've had a look at the Kerite cable manufacturers website. This is the data I'm looking for but unfortunately at the wrong voltage levels (US rather than UK). Does anyone know of an equivalent UK site?

Zero sequence mutual impedance for underground cables

This may be slightly off topic but is there a reason why OHL manufactures supply zero sequence data for their lines and cable manufacturers do not? Is it related to how underground cables are installed? Does anyone know where I can access electrical data for OHL and underground cable at 11kV...

Distribution network fault study - DC cable resistance or AC?

I'm modelling an 11kV distribution network in PSCAD. I'm applying a fault at different points on the feeders and measuring the voltages and currents. The underground cables are less than 80km. Based on Glover, Sarma and Overbyes Power System Analysis and Design book (Chapter 5 pg 246 in...
